coffee, tea and soda

Hi,
I just heard that caffeine can make it difficult for some women to get pregnant and/or stay pregnant. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I'm not a big soda drinker, but I have coffee once or twice a day and tea a few times a day. What are peoples thoughts on this??

After 7 unsuccessful iuis I cut out all caffeine alcohol and soda. I eat my diet based on a Chinese medicine book called the fertility cure. I'm here if you have any questions

My doctor told me to cut it out. I haven't had caffeine in a year now. Same for wine, not a glass in a year!

He said that 1 cup of coffee a day isn't awful, but he really recommends cutting it out completely

Once you cut it out does your chance of conception improve right away or does it take awhile? I'm asking because I have been drinking coffee everyday for years now. Starting this weekend I'm going to buy hot chocolate, hot apple cider and decaf coffee to replace my coffee habits with. Does anyone know if replacing coffee with these things are okay?

    Dreams,
Make sure the cider is pasturized. Remember chocolate has caffeine in it so watch the amount you drink and decaf should be ok. I also cut out caffeine when I started going to acupuncture. It would help right away. The issue is that the caffeine can ramp up the baby's heart rate at any stage and cause it to go to fast and increase your chance of miscarriage. The diet Charlotte is talking about comes from the book the infertility cure. I think there is a thread either in share your story or single mothers dealing with acupuncture and it gives the name of the author as well. It is a great book and an easy read. It explains acupuncture and gives you questions to answer that will help you see what foods to eat and what to avoid. After changing my diet I felt much better no cravings and got my bfp the next month. It doesn't happen for all like that but worked for me. I suggest the book and agree cut the caffeine if you can. Watch out for those nasty caffeine headaches in the beginning! If you aren't trying right away I might start just by cutting down on the coffee so you can avoind the painful headaches!

    Good luck!

So I started drinking less caffeine, it's a start. I bought the hot chocolate k cups and the half and half caff coffee k cups. I've been drinking one hot chocolate mixed into my half and half caff in place of my morning regular coffee. I'm hoping with the added caffeine in the hot chocolate that it is still less caffeine then my normal coffee. If I want anymore coffee in the day I'm going to drink only hot chocolate instead. I think I'm going to do this for a week so I wont get the headaches or get the headaches as bad. Then next week I'll drink just the half and half coffee in the morning without the hot chocolate mixed into it and if I feel I want an extra coffee throughout the day have hot chocolate then. Maybe by the third week I could switch to just decaf and I wont have the cravings or need for coffee and wont need the hot chocolate at all?
