Hello everyone,
Recently I started working a second job to help me afford my future IUI's, but it still seems like it wont be enough so I just started selling avon. I would also like to hear from other people on what they are doing to try to afford these procedures, doctor appointments and medications.
Thank you!
Lori

Lori,
My husband and I have spent a small fortune on the last 10 iuis because our insurance doesnt cover anything and our state is not one of the few the has laws in place to protect the women living there. I wish i could help you and buy something but we are not buying anything right now that is not needed. My husband is working 12-18 hours every day and has been for the last 6 months to come up with every penny needed for ivf. If this cycle doesnt work then we will be writing another almost 30,000 check at the end of march. So all in all we will have spent 50,000 in 12 months on infertility treatments. Granted that includes 6 ivf cycles that we havent done yet but we had to pay in advance.
I dnot wish this burden on anybody. It is so very unfair that not every insurance company covers this kind of thing. i have been working with resolve to help pass laws in every state mandating infertiity coverage for everybody. I encourage you all do to the same. The website is www.resolve.com
thanks for listening. -
I've been working 6 day work weeks but that still doesn't meet to costs. I've spent a ton of money since my insurance doesn't cover any fertility treatments. Unfortunately, I've managed to rack up about $9000 in credit card bills over the past several months and that wasn't including the IVF cost which I paid cash from savings. Now I have no savings and the IVF worked but I had a chemical pregnancy soon after my BFP.
Depending on your credit you can apply for a credit card that covers fertility costs. You can google it (I think it may be called Fertility First). You may also look into taking out a personal loan from a credit union or bank. At this point, I will try to pay down my credit cards and try again sometime in May. It can be done but you just have to make a budget and plan on paying things off later.
Good luck! -
Thank you Moe! I will def. look into fertility first!
