Hi ladies:
I wonder if anyone has had a good experience with their progesterone medications. My doctor prescribed 100 mg of Endometrin which were in vaginal suppository form and I took the pills for 13 days and have had horrible side effects ranging from itching (all over), hives, drowsiness, fatigue, and bloating. Has anyone had a good experience with their progesterone meds? Please share

I'm on the same dose of Endometrin. Only side effect is slightly sore breasts. No biggie for me here. You should definitely talk to your doctor if you are having all those side effects

Holly- I experienced bloating/gas with the progesterone. Since starting fertility treatment, my body chemistry has been altered, causing me to break out into a rash if my skin comes into direct contact with any sort of "fake" metal. My "silver" ear wires have turned a copper colour and make my ears sore, and both of my "silver" and "bronze" belt buckles have changed colour on the top (where they make contact with my skin) and I constantly have a rash in the same spot. VERY weird and annoying- but manageable.

I used 100mg of Prometrium for my last IUI. For me, I experienced bloating, gained a cup size, and horrible mood swings. About 24 hrs after I stopped taking it I pretty much went back to normal.
I would be concerned that hives could signal an allergic reaction.... what does your dr say? -
Thanks everyone for sharing. My doctor is changing my progesterone for my next round, but I don't know what he's recommending yet. It was strange that I didn't experience the side effects until about a week after I stopped using them so there must be a delay with my body. I suppose it is cummulative effect of about 1200-1300 mg of progesterone at once. Yuk!
