Just Getting Started!

My partner and I are just getting this exciting journey underway. We have our first appointment with a fertility specialist next month. I really enjoy reading about other couples' experiences. It's exciting and nerve-racking all at the same time. My partner will carry and I'm doing all the research lol...We are hoping that she conceives sometime in late July, early August of this year. The donor search is turning out to be more of a challenge so any suggestions are appreciated!

My partner and I are scheduled for our 1st insemination this month! Medical history definitely played a huge part in our decision. We got it down to about 8 then ordered baby pics and that got it down to about 3 then we ordered adult pics. After seeing the adult pics, we had a clear winner! We are very happy with our donor and are so excited to have our first try hopefully later this week!

we narrowed our list down pretty easily. My partner is CMV negative, so that was the first criteria. Better to be safe then sorry. We preferred to have ID options (although if it wasn't possible, it would be ok), but that narrowed it down further. Thirdly we wanted someone who is a creative type since i'm an artist and she's a writer. We found a guy with an arts degree who sings and does theater... and we have a winner. Hopefully our child will be able to sing, because lord knows I can't. ha! We didn't order any pictures at the time (although now that my partner is 21 weeks pregnant, I think we will) because it didn't really matter to us what he looked like (although she didn't want anyone over 6' tall because both our families are pretty short... this guy was 5' 10"... the face doesn't really matter though). We have seen pictures of what will be our child's half sibling, and he's a cutie patootie, so that's good. ha!
