should we switch to a new donor?

I have had 2 IUIs and 2 negative pregnancy results. We are getting ready for our third cycle and wondering if we should try a new donor. The andrologist at our RE says that the sperm looks good, but she also casually mentioned that we might want to try someone new if the second IUI didn't result in a pregnancy. We really like our donor's profile and are hesitant to switch, but if switching gets us pregnant it will be worth it. Has anyone else been given advice on how many times you should try with the same sperm? Thanks for your thoughts!

Hey there,
for us it didn't work out for 7 times with the same donor, and it didn't help when we switched.
If you really like your donor, I wouldn't recommend you to switch before the 3'rd IUI (that's the average of successfull TTCs) / before you try taking hormons.

If your doctor even mentioned it you should switch. We switched after 3 tried 1 more time then found out my tubes were clogged. Moved to IVF and achieved pregnancy on the third try. Took a break and when my son tried again with the same donor and got pregnant on the first try. I was glad I switched. I have two great sons.
