Vitex/Chasteberry

Has anyone here taken this herb? I'm doing an un-medicated round and trying some herbs with my acupuncturist. She mentioned that I try taking Vitex after the IUI. I'm just wondering if anyone has taken this?

I tried it but stopped. My fertility doc didn't want me on it

Char, did your doc not want you on it because you were doing meds?

I won't do herbs while taking fertility meds, but since this is an unmedicated round, I was curious.

It was unmedicated actually. I honestly can't remember the reasoning sorry I can't help more

My midwife actually recommended this to get things more in sync. I think it helps ensure more predictability, the only challenge is it says to take it two to three times a day for so many weeks and then drop to one pill a day. Then, on the other hand the back of the bottle says do not take while pregnant. So, I'd suspect it's imperative to stop taking it right prior to anticipated ovulation/pregnancy. But to get things synched you'd need a couple of months on before you were trying. Or so logic is telling me. Long story short - ask your doctor for more info! :D
