Here I go...

I placed my 1st order yesterday! I'm nervous & excited all at the same time. I don't have any known fertility issues, but am 40 years old now. I have budgeted for this 1st attempt ($1,600), but beyond that, I don't know how much I can realistically invest. So...hoping that I'm one of the "lucky" ones! I also joined Club Fairfax. It was nice getting access to the donor's full audio interview, as it proved to me that I've selected the right donor. Although, I already knew it he was the one after ordering his childhood photo and seeing that sweet face. He looks sooo much like my brother's childhood photo...it's crazy! I'll be getting an ultrasound, a shot to force ovulation, and the IUI in mid-March. Wish me luck! God willing, if it's meant to be, then it will happen. If successful, my thoughts will shift to my main stressor....childcare expenses! If having a baby requires me to live in a cardboard box, then that's what I'll do. However, if multiple babies come into play, I'll have to come up with Plan B quick, fast, & in a hurry! I've already enlisted all my family & friends for "team baby". It takes a village, right? ;o)

Congrats on taking that next step! It so nice to have a plan and put it in motion. I went through the same process and the end of January, and I was fortunate enough to get a BFP the first time. Just keep being positive because it really can happen. Best of luck to you!

Tuesday is THE day!!! Had my ultrasound yesterday...my uterus is ready, my egg is almost ready, I'll give myself a shot tonight (do not look forward to that), then we do it on Tuesday. I'm so excited that the time has finally come! And to top it off, Tuesday is my Mom's birthday....she liked that. ;o)

Well...it's done now. Time to wait! Wow...I had so much cramping with this procedure. I tend to be sensitive to pain (especially in that area), so it was quite unpleasant for me for several hours. I just had to keep focused on the end result. Gonna be a long 2 weeks...

This is also my first round of donor IUI and I am only 2dpiui, so I have a while to wait before I can test. Did you get your BFP??

Unfortunately, I tested negative. Realistically, I can't invest too much money being that I'm single living on a single income. I would try again, if the opportunity arose, but it's not looking too promising at this point. Otherwise, I've also considered fostering, which can lead to adoption. Who knows....we'll see where life takes me! :)
