I am 41 and we are trying for another. It can be done but we are going the route of medical assistance and not trying at home. Your chances are lower than if you were 22 but yes it can be done. Good Luck!

I was 39 last week. I have talked to my doctor about this a lot. After 40 it is harder, but not impossible. I talked to a peds doctor the other day who is 43 and has a 17 month old. Her only one. So yes you can, but I agree you getting help from a doctor with this is the best way to go.

You may want to visit the forum "Single Moms" where this topic is fully discussed.

    Hi,
I just had my first baby and I am 42. I believe it has more to do with ones health than age. I also had a home birth assisted by a midwife. My partner and I went to a group to prepare for the home birth, out of the group of 15 couples only three were not transferred to a hospital during labor. We were one of the three and most of the mammas in the group were in their late 20s and early 30s. Our son is now four months and healthy and a happy baby. One other thing; I am not athletic. I swam every day to be in shape before trying to have the baby and during the pregnancy. I also ate healthy food and stayed away from sugar during the pregnancy.

    Good luck!

I am 43 and gave birth to my son while I was 42 & I have a friend who just had twins at 43. I believe women were made to have babies, and that if you have a positive attitude, and have taken good care of yourself mentally & physically over the years you can have a baby/babies. Additionally, I was able to get pregnant with one vial of my donor's sperm vs. the normal two doses and I did it via one round of IUI. So if I can do it so can you :o)
