Well, after 6 IUIs, I finally got a BFP!
I just got the call from my RE, and my beta was 268. We switched donors this round, and I guess that did the trick!
Praying for a healthy happy 9 months!

Thank you all so much! I am being cautious with my feelings, but of course I am excited. Roberta, I can't wait to feel just that!! We switched to donor 2908. I wish we had switched earlier, but who knows....sometimes thing happen only when they are supposed to! I'll keep you all posted on Wednesday's beta!

Well, beta #2 came back at 506. To double it should have been 536. :(
I go back Friday for another beta.
  • hopefulcharhopefulchar Senior Member Senior Member
My doctor said 66% increase is good enough to have a healthy pregnancy. Try not to get to upset. Betas are the worst! I hunk we all analyze everything.

I spent the first week of my pregnancy upset and scared. I recommend you relax and enjoy your little bean!

Hi - my beta numbers went from 140 to 270. I was freaked, but my doc said that was fine and didn't do a 3rd beta. I think they said 60 - 70% or more is fine... the average is a doubling.

    My son is now 2....

Hope this will help ease the fear a bit....

Thank y'all. I'll feel better in a few weeks we can do an ultrasound! And on Friday when I see more numbers.

i hope the ultrasound went well yesterday. Keep us posted!!

I thought I replied to the thread...but it never appeared, so if this pops up twice...I'm sorry!
It took me FOREVER to find the new forum link!
Our ultrasound went great, we got to hear the heartbeats! Yup, you read that right, heartbeats! It's TWINS! Both babies measured perfectly, and the heartbeats were 127 and 122. We go back for our next ultrasound on the 22nd! We are very excited, but a bit overwhelmed, and I am sick as a dog. Morning sickness is apparently all day sickness for me.
I am now on the search for as much info about twin pregnancies as possible. Woah what a crazy adventure this is....
  • GeminiJaiGeminiJai Senior Member Senior Member
WOW, k&b! That is incredible news!! I can imagine you must be feeling overwhelmed but also overjoyed, as well! Congratulations on your doubly-wonderful news and I wish you all the luck in the world for a very happy and healthy 9 months! OH! And I hope the morning/all day sickness subsides for you soon :)
  • sine4mesine4me Senior Member Senior Member
Congrats k&b!!! That is fantastic news, I'm so happy for you!! I can't remember how many follicles you said you had this time? Sorry about the morning sickness, I've heard with multiples it can be worse. Hopefully it will go away soon for you!

Congrats again and good luck during your pregnancy!!

See I told you it would happen. Congrats friend. How many weeks are u now?
  • k&bk&b Senior Member Senior Member
Thank you all! You are right Char! I had 2, possibly 3 follicles, but I think the trick was switching donors! My due date is Dec 30th, but I don't know if I will make it that far. I am pretty small framed, so I am going to do my best to do whatever I need to do to carry these babies full term!
At what point do you think it is safe to tell people? My RE said that once you hear the heartbeat, your miscarriage rate drops significantly, but I am trying to figure out if we should wait till 10 or 12 weeks?

Congrats k&b! I'm very happy for you! What meds did you take this cycle? I just had my fourth IUI 2 weeks ago but my first using injectables. I didn't have to wait to test because AF showed up Sunday. I've been pretty disappointed with all of them but this one was particularly difficult. I guess I thought since I had 3 follicles this time with the injectables I had a way better chance but mother nature had different plans this month. I keep telling myself it'll happen when it's supposed to. I went for my baseline ultrasound and I have multiple cysts in each ovary so now I am taking this month off. Truthfully I am somewhat relieved to have a month off to just relax and be somewhat stress free.
    Sigh :(

Thank you! I understand how you feel completely!
This was my 6th IUI, and my 3rd with injectabiles. This round we switched from Clomid to Lupron because of my lining. We also used Follistem, and a trigger shot. As with all of my IUIs, I used progesterone afterwords as well. This time though, instead of the suppositories, I used the gel. Really the only reason for this was because my RE had a bunch of free samples. My 3rd IUI had 4 follicles, with a BFN, so I guess you just never know. I also switched donors this time. I can't tell you for sure that it made the difference, but here we are! I did not do anything different with my diet or excersize, I acted completely normal. I had 0 symptoms until about a week and a half after my BFP!
Enjoy your month off, and have a refreshed start the next go around! I believe stress played a role in my IUIs as well. This was my most relaxed, least stressed 2ww ever.

Way to go k&b!!! I had to chuckle to myself when I read the word "heartbeats". It was as if you were reading my mind when you followed up with "yup you read that right, heartbeats!" because I chuckled again. Congratulations and I look forward to hearing about what's to come over the next nine months.

Congrats K&B continued prayers are sent your way for sticky gummi bears. Hope you're starting to feel better. Get plenty of rest and small meals sometimes are helpful to minimize the nausea. Please keep the updates coming. :-)

Congratulations. Just wondering what counts you had for 2908. I used him recently and one vial count was 3million, which seemed low to me.
  • k&bk&b Senior Member Senior Member
If I recall correctly, it was just under 9 million 100% motility. Each office counts differently, and mine only counts motile sperm. With a previous donor that we used unsuccessfully, we had low counts, so used 2 vials at a time. If your counts were under 10 million, be sure and have your dr send a report to Fairfax so you can get your money back for that vial.
