If you used Ovidrel (or something similiar) to trigger ovulation, it can stay in your system for 14 days- and that can actually give you a false reading on a HPT. I suggest wait the full 2 weeks and then re-test. Until then, just try to keep your mind and body active. The more you focus on the "what if," the more you'll drive yourself crazy and the minutes will tick by slower than watching paint dry. Best of luck!

Thank you to both people who weighed in! All input is so welcome as I'm brand new to this. I didn't use a trigger or anything as its my first attempt with no known issues. I just started a few new projects yesterday so hopefully that will keep my mind off it! :)

OK I am so confused, I started to get a faint + result on a test last night and again this morning, but now it looks like I might be starting my pd??? I don't know what to make of this!

the waiting definitely sucks. i had an iui on friday the 18th and asked my doc to give me a requisition for an hcg test today (9 days after ovulation). I was hoping they would call with the results today, but looks like it will be tomorrow. if it comes back negative, i will do the test again on day 12... which is the day the fertility clinic has me booked. i just couldn't wait... so my family doc helped me out be sneaking me in sooner!

Radmad - good luck! Hope your results are postive!

moewhit25 - thanks for the advice! I tried reaching my doc today, but probably won't get a call back until tomorrow. I will be sure to ask about the beta blood test. I'm getting cautiously optimistic though, as my at home tests are starting to show up darker each day. And I'm getting sleepier and queasier, though that could just be stress. ;)

Ocean blue I used clear blue easy exactly 10 days after my first iui and was able to get positive results. Unfortunately at 10weeks I miscarried but my point is you can test as soon as 10 days. I had taken clomid on CD3-7.

Update - I had my first blood test last Thursday and everything showed positive, getting the second comparative test this Thursday - should hear back Friday so fingers crossed. And if that is good my fertility doc is going to do an early 6.5 week sonogram the following Friday to confirm too. THEN if everything is still good, I'll start to relax into the idea that this is real and probably tell my closest people. No one knows we were even trying!

oh wow...how exciting! It's always so great to read success stories! Congrats and I hope all goes well for you!!

Thanks! I can't believe how much WAITING is involved even when things go well. There's the two week wait, but then all the waiting for 'confirming' tests, plus all the advice to wait even longer to tell people...its so odd. Like I am not supposed to let myself believe it for a few months or something! (I know I was extremely lucky that I got a positive on the first try, so I shouldn't complain about waiting, but we've actually been waiting to be able to try for almost 3 years due to health issues that came up with both my wife then me - so I felt out of patience before we even really began. And all our family and friends are constantly asking us when we're going to have kids, and its so hard to lie!)

How's everything going with your pregnancy? Hope you're doing well!

Thanks for asking! Actually the first trimester has been really hard, I've had constant nausea and exhaustion and dizziness. Plus other minor weird symptoms like a bad taste in my mouth, super sensitive nose, crying for no reason. The best thing I can say about it is that I'm not working right now so I could really take it easy, and my wife has been taking great care of me. AND hopefully it'll get much better soon as I just hit 12 weeks. I'm currently awaiting results of my 12 week testing, but the prelim results were ok. I haven't let myself get excited yet, but I think getting those results will feel like its finally time to relax.
