Evil pio!!!

I started my PIO (progesterone in oil) shots this past Saturday in addition to my Estrogen shots which I started about two weeks ago?? Cannot remember...I guess it is a cummulative effect of the PIO because as of yesterday (Monday) I couldn't walk without a significant limp. I'm a physical therapist and I looked worse than some of my patients. Here I am showing an elderly gentleman how to walk with a walker and I sure enough needed ONE. And when I tried to squat down to pick something off the floor, it actually took my breath away and I gave a miniature dog YELP!!!! I've noticed that my thighs have thickened lumps where I've been injecting despite massaging the area. My nurse today told me that PIO causes scar tissue. WTH?!?! The only thing that helps resolve scar tissue is extensive and aggressive friction massage. I can hardly stand to touch the area let along give a deep pressure massage!!! I will try to inject my butt tonight because I fear that I won't be able to walk from my car to the FET suite at the hospital tomorrow!!
I envy those of you that get the "pleasure" of inserting the supporisities throughout the day!! You don't know how good you have it!!!
Okay I'm done complaining because it really is all worth it when we hold our bundle(s) of joy!
Lots of sticky baby dust to all.

First of all you are hilarious! Are you sure you weren't a comedienne in your former life? LOL. I have a question, how is it determined whether you use the PIO shots vs. the suppositories?
Pauline
Glad I could give you some comic relief :-) One thing the crazy fertility journey has shown me is that there is humor in just about everything. I feel like it's important to laugh and not take yourself too seriously during this journey. With every visit, I find something funny even with those awkward moments.
As for the PIO, my doctor recommends it for FET because it's the most potent form of progesterone. Using certain meds to prepare for the FET and/or IVF can really drop the natural levels of progesterone. I used the suppositories for all of my IUI's and for my fresh IVF cycle. I think eventually the shots are discontinued and then suppositories are used until 8-10 weeks depending on the levels.
How are you doing? Where are you in your cycle? I'm just doing things to occupy my mind. No signs of anything BUT it's really only been 2 days :-)
Hope all is well with everyone.
Lots of baby dust to all!!

Sending good thoughts...

Thanks for the positive thoughts Regan....I could really use them today. Just feeling really bad about POAS probably too early but seeing the BPN really has put me in a bad place.
So irritated and pissed about how difficult this all has been when some people just get it on the first shot. Yes! I could use a nice rump rub. I no longer give any shots in my thighs, strictly in the rump and that has been fine. I finally got the lumps and soreness worked out of my thighs. That was terrible!! Anyway, how are things with you? How's the kitten?

I've been thinking about you during your two week wait and was wondering how you were holding up. I believe I read on another thread that you tested on day five with no positive, yet. Let's just pray that it was too early and the next test you will get your positive!
Thanks for asking about my cycle. I decided to push everything back until this month (June). I'm a school teacher, and I didn't want the added stress of completing end of the paperwork, packing my classroom and all of the other end of the year "stuff" to interfere with the insemination. I've decided not to work an additional job this summer just so that I can completely focus on the task of getting pregnant. I figure I have at least three months to try before school starts again in September. Everything is set to go. The sperm is on ice, I already have my prescription of clomid on deck, I'm just waiting for AF to show up. Who knows, perhaps we will have babies that are weeks or months apart, LOL
In the spirit of sticky dust,
Pauline
Thanks for the message. I'm doing better today although I had light spotting yesterday and even lighter today. I'm trying to keep things in perspective. My nurse told me that implantation after FET doesn't happen for some women until 4-5 days afterward. And it was and is still too early to POAS. I'm hoping for the best but it's not really up to me. I've given up coffee, started back working out, religiously go to yoga and acupuncture and just started getting massages. Also trying to get lots of rest and take all my supplements.
I hope that you have a restful summer and that you have success right away! That would give you a couple of months to get through the period of significant fatigue and possible puke period before you have to get back to the grind. It would be wonderful to have our little ones around similar times! I'll keep my fingers crossed and sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way!! Be sure to keep us updated on your cycle and when things are starting..
All the best!!
