i saw photos of maksim. he is absolutely beautiful. i am narrowing down t my final choice for sperm donor. were you concerned with 2754's CMV when you picked him?
  • robinrobin Senior Member Senior Member
    honestly no,
it wasn"t anything that my doctor was concerned about or tested for. I went with the donor that I felt a connection with.

    Robin,
I would love to be in contact too! I made my purchase yesterday and looking forward to my procedure this month. moving forward! Will keep in touch and keeping my fingers crossed. :) How is the little one by the way? Update with more pics when you get a chance.

    mimi,
Glad to hear that you also are using 2754. Keep us posted.
  • robinrobin Senior Member Senior Member
Absolutely keep us posted. I will post a new pic when I can. the little guy is now 10 pounds and 22 1/2 inches long. He has grown so much in the past month. He has started to talk..... ok make noises but they are so cute. His eyes are a gorgeous blue, I hope they stay this color. They are a dark blue and go so well with his dark brown hair. he did not get the eye color from me..... Possibly the donor? He is so sweet looking when sleeping. he has one loud cry though! that comes out when he has gas or is hungry. He farts like a man! he even raises his leg a little before farting. He also eats lots!
sending you lots of baby dust!

    Hi Robin,
He sounds super cute! Quick question -> I saw farther up in the message thread that you got pregnant on the second try. Did you use medicated or unmedicated IUI or was that with IVF? I'm trying to decide whether to try a natural cycle for our first try (hopefully next month).

We did! On the second try. We gave birth to a beautiful baby girl from 2908. She's 5 months now and absolutely perfect!

It was the second try with 2754. It was my fourth attempt but took 8 months. I did not always produce a follicle. I always did medicated first 2 with clomid then the next 6 months injectibles. Again I only produced a follie every other month. Good luck to you! My insurance is very good and meds were covered.

Congrats to those of you who are now moms (given birth or prego)!!

I will be taking the next step of my journey to get pregnant in about two weeks! IUI!!

We have a 2 1/2 year old little girl with 2634. I know of 6 others by this donor as well. Guess you could say his stuff works!! :O)

January will be my 4th and final try via iui with donor 2754. His sperm count is excellent and he is very handsome. Problem is w/my age and poor ovarian reserve. This will be my first cycle w/ Menopur and praying that will make the difference. I just want to be a mommy, like all of you I'm sure!
  • ButterflyButterfly Member Member
How old are you? In Sept, my doctor put me on Clomid and did my 2nd IUI. I then had a miscarriage in October. After having had a miscarriage in October using Donor 2754, I still used him on my fourth try in Dec and got pregnant and my levels are doing better. I think the trick was not doing Clomid and getting on Femara. Femara does not thin uterine lining. Stay positive and I hope you get pregnant with 2754.

Keep us updated, Becster and mimi! I am also pregnant by 2754 and due July 4th. He seems to be pretty popular! Let's keep in touch!
Private message me if you want to talk outside of the forum!!!

Mimi and bchester I also would like to keep in touch! You can pm me and we can talk outside of the forum if you like. I have not applied to the private forum yet guess I should?! Sounds like more mommies out there by 2754 than I thought! So exciting! Maks is now 6 months old and I will be posting new pics very soon! He is so cute (I know I'm biased;-)). He is sitting up now and eating lots of veggies! I know it will not be long before he starts to crawl! He is not rolling all the way over yet but I swear he is going to go from sitting to crawling and just skip that step cuz he hates being on his belly!

I wish all of you lots of baby dust with donor 2754!

We ended up not being able to use 2754 because our RE was concerned about CMV status, so I had to choose a CMV negative donor. I was a little bummed at the time, but the great news is that we got pregnant on our first IUI with donor 4034. I am 14 weeks today. :-)
  • robinrobin Senior Member Senior Member
Congrats! Looks like 4034 was meant to be your donor! What luck on the first try!

Wow Mimi the first try!! That's awesome. Did you do a medicated cycle or natural? I am not too optimistic about my first time. It seem so rare that we get lucky the first time. Congrats on your little one. Keep us updated.
  • mimijuniormimijunior Junior Member Junior Member
Actually, it was a natural cycle, so that is possible. We did 2 back to back IUIs - the day after my LH surge and the following day. I had used 4 different types of ovulation tests (many times per day) leading up to the IUI to try to make sure we wouldn't miss it. I had also been using ovulation tests for about 6 months ahead of time and had been charting for a while too. I had some signs/symptoms in the 2WW but then I tested too early and it was negative and I felt discouraged/started planning for the next cycle. I had also been having acupuncture for several months before trying, I stopped eating gluten, and I had been meditating a lot too (the Circle & Bloom guided meditations). I'm not sure whether any of those things contributed to our successful IUI, but I do feel super lucky that it ended up working, and I wish you all lots of baby dust, too!
