2nd trimester spotting

Anyone have experience with spotting in the 2nd trimester? I had it a lot in the 1st, and was told not to worry about it. But now I'm a few weeks into the 2nd and my doc said its a bigger deal now. I've already had a few instances of spotting since week 12, and been in the see my doc extra because of it, and now we're sort of at the point of trying to figure out when to worry, and when to let it go. Mainly because I can't rush off to the doctor every week and that is what its turning into. My doctor's office now says if the bleeding is under a certain amount to not worry so much, but I'm finding that advice hard to take. Any bleeding is so alarming to me, and I wish I knew what I was doing to cause it!

Anyone have experience with this, calming words?
