I am a success story. One ovary one follicle plus accupuncture = Maksim! Plus it gave me energy and helped me sleep better! Read the book the infertility cure it is understandable and asks questions so you can figure out what is out of whack and you can change your diet to help promote fertility. I did it for 4 weeks and got my bfp and continued for most of my pregnancy and then went back to help induce labor. It helped with it all! I would do it again and if I had the funds would still be going!

I hateneedles but LOVE acupucture. Go to someone who specializes in infertility. If you donKt know one ask your re, mine had smeone they recommended. I didn't take any herbal supplements as they didn't know how they would work with the injections. I did follow the diet in the book and the acupuncturist saw a change in my tongue the next week. Idropped 15 pounds and no longer craved sweets. Turns out I had a cold uterus which was taken care of with heating pads. I am a firm believer in acupuncture!

But does it still work if the women isn't the issue?

Familylove3, not sure what you mean by "if the woman isn't the issue"?

Yes, I am also a firm believer of acupuncture. I first started going last year and the acupuncturist wanted my cycles to run longer in duration and have a heavier flow. Typically mine were only 3 days long and usually pretty light. After a couple sessions, the following month, they were heavier and lasting 5 days.
Acupuncture helps with blood flow, energy, and a number of other things depending on what the focus is. If you're wanting it for fertility, make sure to go to someone that specializes in fertility, if not, it can do more damage than good. I'm incorporating it into my IVF cycle and I have a friend that went through IUI's and IVF, on her second IVF she started doing acupuncture regularly and got pregnant that round. She continued it through her first trimester and carried to term.
During one of my visits to my acupuncturist, i had some back pain. While dealing with my fertility portion, she also did my back and i had less pain when i left. It truly is amazing.
Like Robin, i have also found it to be very relaxing. I'm also fearful of needles, but it is surprisingly very relaxing and something that i look forward to. my recommendation would be to just try it. Go at least twice and I guarantee you will see or feel a difference. Just my 2 cents :)

Acupuncture works to get the uterus to be the most habitable possible. I found out I had a cold uterus..... there is nothing in western medicine that even looks for that or talks about it. So while you say you may not have any issues acupuncture can help to just make evrything in the best possible shape. Acupuncture can also work for me with fertility issues if they have low sperm.

I agree with sine4me.... give it a shot try it a few times if you don't feel better after them then stop. What can it hurt?

If you are saying that your partner has male factor fertility issues, then he is the one that would need acupuncture, not you.

I will look into to it. I just hope that this would be something the insurance would pay for. Maybe we'll both do it. To help him n get me more baby belly ready

My insurance did not cover acupuncture, but get a receipt and keep track of 100% of your expenses that are not covered. This includes mileage to/from appointments, including acupuncture, meds, sperm, etc. if your out of pocket costs reach 7.5% of your adjusted gross income, you can deduct the expenses on your taxes. I was able to deduct a ton last year. Just keep good records.

I would tell them. Mine were supportive but I felt that full disclosure just made sense for me.
