TWW over but low hcg and bleeding

babydreams2012babydreams2012 Junior Member Junior Member
Had my blood test today-wed- Been cramping for a few days .. 1hr before doc called starting bleed- brown but has now gotten more red- doc said hcg was at 9.7 they want me to come back Friday just to retest but the nurse said it ll most likely be gone by then. Is there even a point to going? Especially if I continue to bleed ? This is my first IUI so I was preparing myself for it not to work but I thought I would just get a BFN and not a "hey it looks like it tried to implant but didn't/couldn't. " I'm s little shell shocked right now. I felt different during the TWW .. Pulling cramping and alot of other symptoms but then this ?? Is there something I could have done to help with implantation ?

I'm sorry, I got the bfp last month but #s weren't doubling, week 7 u/s showed empty sac. Had a d&c 2 weeks ago. Don't let it get you down! Keep trying and you will succeed :)

On my first pregnancy I miscarried, like bcarney at 8 weeks. It was rough. But I'm now 20 weeks with another donor. It turns out I'm very happy that I miscarried and then changed donors since my first donor has now been pulled from distribution due to some birth defects with one child born to him.

Keep the faith and a big hug to you.

So sorry about this....sounds like what happenend to me earlier this year. It was a chemical pregnancy which means an early miscarriage. It's very common and most women that are going through TTC without any help, assume it's an early heavier period. But the fact that we all are anxious to see that early BFP we know when it doesn't "take". It's hard not to read into all of the TWW symptoms but next go around try to keep your mind occupied. I stopped reading into symptoms since the progesterone mimimics pregnancy symptoms. It's hard to handle the disappointment especially when you do everything correctly. There's no way to predict the egg quality/viability when doing an IUI so early losses tend to occur. Even IVF isn't 100% but atleast there can be tests done to see how the egg/sperm look prior to transferring them to the uterus.

There are things that can help with implantation which many women on this forum have described in past posts. It's very informative so look back at the older posts. Some suggestions have been changing diet (some sort of fertility diet), acupuncture, eating pineapple core after IUI, massage, yoga, and meditation just to name a few. But remember, if an embryo isn't viable to begin with nature will do it's thing regardless of what you do to try to hang on to it. So don't feel like you did anything to cause this.

Good luck with your next cycle.
