So im on day 19 today and have been using the opk since day 12 of this cycle and it still hasnt detected a surge. Last month it detected iton day 16 so im n ot surewhats going on? This is my test month and next month im trying my first iui based off of info from this cycle. Its making me a little concerned

Sounds like you have a longer cycle than most if you are getting a positive surge on Day 16 last month. In a perfect world what you should see is a surge for 2 days. Are you charting your temperatures? If you have not I recommend that you start. A rise in your temperature would have been the lagging indicator that ovulation has occurred. For some unknown reason the opk tests don't always work, they do most of the time. If you or your doctor is concerned about not getting a positive surge & missing your fertile time then when you do your first IUI you might should include an ultra sound to check follicle size and count.

My cycles vary every month it seems. I only use the clearblue digital monitoring opk kit and see the happy face meaning that it detected a surge, just one day out of the month. I did end up seeing the happy face finally this month, it was on day 20.
