Vanishing Twin Syndrome?

I am 31 and did 5 IUIs, I am now 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant and had my first ultrasound today. They are twins!
But my doctor said many twin pregnancies do not make it past the first trimester, and that one of the fetus's may desolve. Has anyone experienced this before?
By the way I used donor 2995.

Hi! In my first pregnancy I did experience this syndrome. At the first ultrasound it was twins but at the second only one remained. I did have a happy healthy baby boy at 35 weeks so try not worry about it! I think it's more common than people realize, it's just if you are using fertility drugs or a donor often you get earlier ultra sounds that make you aware of something you wouldn't know about in a "normal" pregnancy.
