Hello. This is my first time posting here. Ok so here is my story:

I am 37 (will be 38 VERY soon) and I decided to become a single mom and I have no known fertility issues. I am currently on CD5 and I am on clomid 50 mg and ovidrel trigger shot.

IUI 1: 3 mature follicles BFN
IUI 2: 3 mature follicles BFN
IUI 3: ????

I switched donors this month in hopes of a BFP. I read somewhere that if an IUI does not work by the third try that it would be wise to move on to IVF. Is this true?

Michelle it depends on your situation. I did 4 iuis over 8 months before i got my bfp. Each person is different. If you have the funds to move on you can. My doc wanted to try for 6 months before talking about other options because it can take 4-6 tries to work. There are many women on here who have moved onto ivf and are happy that they did. I too was 37 going to be 38. I now have a 5 month old little boy who was conceived on my 4th iui after 8 months of trying with just onefollicle and one ovary. So maybe this third time will be a charm for you!

Best wishes and lots of baby dust! Maybe this new donor was meant to be the donor of your child!

I too was 37, going on 38 but I started with IVF. You get more follicles (I averaged 8) but harder drugs and even then, it took me 3 attempts @ IVF to get pregnant. I also switched donors after 2nd IVF attempt to a donor who had been successful before (resulting in a preganancy). Californiagal
