Anyone know what the most common inject. meds are.
I have no known issues and have carried 1 preg. to term, but that was 13 yrs ago.
Trying to do some research on my own before my mtg with the doc next Mon (crazy I know) JUst feel like I need to do something durring this TWW

I also had a full term pregnancy 8 years ago. I got pregnant on the first try back then. A year ago I had a miscarriage where I was pregnant on the 2nd try. Up until this whole process I have never had any fertility issues either. My bloodwork showed my eggs weren't maturing fast enough (I was having a 25 day cycle) so they tried me on Clomid which I completely overstimulated on! They decided to use injectibles which they were better able to control. They used Follistim which they could monitor me with u/s and bloodwork and change the dosage as necessary. I did an HcG trigger shot and used progesterone suppositories after the IUI. I hope that helps.
Good luck on your tww and I hope you won't need to do anything else because you're pregnant! -
Thanks for the info.
Keeping my fingers crossed -
Hi blkern, I have the same issue where they found that my eggs are being released before they are fully mature. They found this during the preliminary testing. My cycles are now averaging 27 days, but I am still having a few short cycles.
I am getting nervous about this as I get closer to my first IUI. How did things work out for you? I am just using monitoring and Ovidrel on my first two tries.
Does anyone else have this problem? -
Yania, I had my first IUI on November 6. I was pregnant on the first try but ended up having another miscarriage. It was a chemical pregnancy this time. I had a pretty poor specimen so I'm not sure if that is why. But the Follistim worked perfectly! I had 2 perfect eggs and my timing was perfect. I am now in the process of my 2nd IUI. I go in tomorrow for day 10 monitoring. Hopefully the Follistim will work just as well this time around. And hopefully with a better specimen this time around I'll have better luck. When are you thinking your first IUI will be?

Wishing you baby dust.
My day 1 monitoring should begin early next week, so I am looking at first week of Feb. for my first IUI. I guess this cycle will give me a better idea of how well my eggs develop without medication.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the update. I will mention follistism to my doctor. He has me scheduled for clomid on round three. -
That's exciting Yania. I'm hoping to get my period next week and have my IUI soon after. If i keep up the ovulating on Day 10 it won't be long after my period. We would be sharing our 2ww together if all works out great for us both! Baby dust to you too...
