extra eggs from Bravelle?

jtemballjtemball Junior Member Junior Member
Has anyone else had this experience - so I was on my 1st mo. of Bravelle injectables had 9 follicles 3 were mature... ended up being a no go but on my day 3 US for the next cycle they found a large follicle still left and had me take 2 wks of BC to get rid of the large follicle.... I am now again at day 3 and thankfully today's US showed all is well so we can start the process again... I am just wondering what teh chances are this time.... we have been doing iuis for what will be 7 mo. I have no dx infertility problem, the doctor has told me he doesnt understand why I havent gotten pregnant yet. If this mo does not work he mentioned doing some type of laser surgery to see if they can find anything that may not be showing up on the scans and blood work. PLUS our donor avail was already depleated last time we ordered there were only 13 vials left and we bought 2 of those... just gettng frustrated.

Hmm, not sure what you're asking. Bravelle is FSH, just like Gonal-F and Follistim. All of these meds are good for IVF and IUI's.. I don't know of any one to be better than the other except Gonal-F is alot more well known. I have used all 3 of these meds, I buy whatever I can and what I can afford. Why was your first cycle a no go? You couldnt have it converted to an IUI? I dont think it was the Bravelle to blame, some women don't cycle well every month. I can't comment on the odds of it working. I dont knnow your age or if you have any hormone issues or anything, but maximum stimulation should be done for IVF to increase follicles. Not sure how much Bravelle You used a day but good luck this cycle.

I'm a little confused. Were you trying for an IUI or an IVF? If an IUI, then yes, 9 follicles might be too high. But for an IVF you want as many as possible. For my 2nd IVF they got over 16 eggs and 10 mature.

Cysts, or large left over follicles, are rather common after being on the drugs for several months. I had a cyst after my 3rd medicated round of IUI (I was on Follistim). It cleared and I never had another one.

Talk to you doctor about your dosage, if you are doing IUI vs IVF and when it might make sense to move forward, your concerns, etc. Your doctor should be willing to take all the time you need to talk through your concerns and options.

I started the process at 38 with perfect numbers, no issues, and good health. It took me 13 IUIs and 2 IVF to get pregnant. I am due in March and will be 41. It just takes some of us longer.

We are doing IUI. There were 9 last time of which 3 were mature but oneended up "being left over" so we had to wait and take BC til it went away and my cycle started again. This cycle they are still doing the same dose of bravelle. I obviously am hoping for the best but hoping to not have to "have extra" again. I was just wondering how common it is for that to happen.
