Claiming iui on taxes?

I saw a message someone wrote telling someone to save all of their receipts for their iui because it is tax deductible. I heard fertility treatments are tax deductible for couples with fertility issues, but does that go for single women as well?

Absolutely. No need to be married. I deducted the medical expenses, drugs, sperm plus the mileage for driving to/from all my appointments last year. The amount needs to be equal to a certain % of your adjusted gross income. For 2011 it was 7.5% but I think it went up to 10% for 2012. Talk to a tax professional to be sure. But I kept a spreadsheet of all expenses associated with my IUI/IVF process, even mileage and parking! -
I have all my expenses on a chart and am working on my taxes now. Where do you put the sperm on the tax form? The options are: doctors, scripts, tests/lab fees, medical aids and devices, and other eligible expenses. I figured everything else out but couldn't figure out where to claim the sperm.
Thanks! -

I'll have to look, I had my accountant do it last year.
