Hung up on ONE feature

My husband and I are in the home stretch of choosing a donor. It's been a much more difficult process than either of us imagined. We've narrowed down to 2. Our top photo match with Fairfax (4606) and our top photo match with another bank. We decided on 4606, but are still second guessing. We're hung up on the shape of his mouth in his childhood photo. It's an odd shape and very different from my DH's. So silly, right? There's a couple other features that are slightly off, but overall he's strikingly similar. We're worried we'll be hung up on this feature throughout the entire pregnancy. We plan to tell our children we used a donor, but matching physical traits is still very important to us. Any advice on how to get past this? Has anyone else obsessed over one feature or detail? Thanks!

Honestly speaking, just go with your gut because there are no guarantees on how genetics will be displayed. There could be recessive traits in your background that randomly show up. From personal experience I'm thankful eventhough for now my daughter does not really resemble me yet. The important thing is that she's finally here and just perfect!!

    Good luck on your journey!!

Hi, Davidswife. I'm wondering how things are going with you? Were you able to resolve your feelings about the childhood photo and the shape of the mouth? I know what you mean. I had the same concern, but I think it was just the photo.
