Donor 2997

IvettinaIvettina Junior Member Junior Member
Hello :)
can anyone shed light on donor 2997. He has a reported pregnancy. Still exploring and wanted to get as much information as I possibly can on this donor. Also, am really nervous about taking this route, for those of you who have successfully gotten pregnant using Fairfax, were you completely comfortable this cryobank? I would like to speak with any one who is willing to call me and shed some light on their experience. Thank you.

We looked at California Cryobank, New England cryogenic center, and Fairfax. Picking the cryobank was an easy decision for us because we feel like Fairfax does the most donor testing and gives us the most donor information. Everyone we spoke to on the phone and IMed has made the process very easy and smooth. It did take us a really long time to decide on a donor, though. We have a 6 month old by a fairfax donor and have vials in storage of the same donor for our second baby. We are completely comfortable with Fairfax. Also, the vial delivery to or dr went smoothly and the sperm were very active. It took us 2 times to get pregnant via IUI.

Hi Kris&Shan, thank you so much for replying. I literally would be doing this by myself, no boyfriend or husband. Boyfriend dumped me when I asked him to participate. The donor I have selected from Fairfax is 2997. He is completely anonymous. However, he is absolutely adorable as a little boy, no lifetime photo available. I know this may sound off the wall, but if I purchase 2997 specimen, I want to make sure that's what Im going to get, Ive heard horror stories of being the recipient of the wrong specimen. So you are both completely comfortable with the vial delivery?

Is your donor ID at 18? Did you have lifetime photos?

I've heard stories like that but not from Fairfax. Have you heard that about Fairfax? We felt really good about it. The donor number was on the vial, on the nitrogen tank, and on a sheet of paper that came with the tank. They seem to have a good system. We even kept the tiny vial with the donor number on it as a momento. Our donor is an ID donor but no lifetime photos. He has a cute kid pic and we looked at his profile silhouette, too. We were a little nervous about not seeing lifetime photos but we took the plunge. A big thing for us was the audio interview! We liked some donors but when we heard their voice, we completely changed our minds. We definitely wanted an ID donor because we want our son to have the option of contacting the donor at some point. We will be happy with whatever he decides about that, but I knew that if it were me, I'd be way to curious not to know as much as possible about him. I know two people who chose anonymous. One of the kids is 21 and the other is 13. The 13 yr old boy really wants to find out as much as possible and the 21 yr old could care less. It seems like there is really no right or wrong way, only personality differences that effect the parents and kids regarding anonymous or not.

    Hi Ivettina,

I haven't conceived yet with fairfax, but am very comfortable with them. Before I began this journey, I discussed my options with a friend who had investigated and used multiple cryobanks. She overwhelmingly advised me to go with fairfax! With my donor search, I was very interested in having easy assess to medical history and CMV status. I found these very easy to search on Fairfax's website. I have also had wonderful customer service with them both when calling and online chat. I am also looking to become a single mom, so the customer service aspect was very helpful. Plus, as single moms to be, the forum is an excellent resource for advice, information, and support.

I wish you tons of luck!!
