Donor 2993

I am hoping to do another IUI here soon. Last time I used donor 2993 and it was unsuccessful and I want to try again. I have a boy from previous marriage but this one is not fertile and want to try for a girl, but a boy will be just as fine.
My question is, is there anyone that has used Donor 2993 and has had a successful pregnancy and was it a boy or a girl?
Thanks

Hi nrsing. I used this donor twice and have had good luck on his end, just not such good luck on my end. I got pregnant on the first try with him but ended in a chemical pregnancy. The second time I tried with him I also got pregnant. This time I made it to my 10 week appt and found the heart stopped beating at 9 1/2 weeks. The testing showed the baby had Down Syndrome and the mutation happened on my end. The baby was a baby girl. I'm told most Down Syndrome pregnancies end in miscarriage and there's no reason for me to try again. So now I'm just waiting to get the go ahead for the next try. I should be able to try again in August. But at any rate he has been pretty good to me getting pregnant each time I tried. I'm hoping it happens again that way in August but my body does a better job this time around. Good luck nrsing. I hope to hear good news from you soon.

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant with donor 2993 and we're expecting a boy. I don't think the gender really has anything to do with the donor you choose. With the research i've done, using IUI makes you slightly more likely for a boy than a girl (55% boy 45% girl). Good luck! I hope things work out for you.

Thank you two for your info.
CRipplie1 if you don't mind me asking how many tries did it take you to get pregnant with 2993? Congrats btw!!!
When I used donor 2993 I got pregnant on the first try. My RE said that, that does not always happen and they were relieved/shocked/happy that it did. Only down side is that for some reason the embryo was not "growing" the way that it needed to. When I went for my 6wk us I was measuring 3wks behind, then same for next 2 us I had. I don't know if I want to try with 2993 again or not (as long as ob says ok).
What would you two do if either of you were in my situation? Should I try for same donor or seek out another?
I'm just worried that if I do try again with 2993 that it will end up in another disappointment along with broken heart and bank account. -
Sorry to hear that both pregnancies were misfortunes
I didn't even ask to see if mine was a boy or a girl. I was just so upset that I felt like I was in lala land then it finally hit me and I cried my eyes out.
I don't understand. I had my son, then I was a surro twice. Every time pregnancy was on first try.
I'm going to see a specialist in Aug to see what is the deal with me and see if anything is wrong with me. Cross fingers that he will say that I am fine (alone with ob) and that I can resume again in Oct. -
I only had one IUI with donor 2993 and got pregnant and everything has been fine. I think blkern23 (Becky) is a better person to answer your question about the donor and if you should continue with him because I've never had a miscarriage.
That said, in my experience miscarriage is common. If you have had 3 pregnancies all to term without any issues, then my guess is that you're totally fine and it was just a fluke. I've had an aunt who had 7 children and also had 5 miscarriages. A sister with 2 kids who has also had 2 miscarriages. And a cousin with her first baby due to show up any day now who had a miscarriage before this pregnancy. They're pretty run of the mill. Something like 1/4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage. I'm fairly certain a doctor will tell you that they aren't concerned unless you have 3 miscarriages in a row. So my vote would be to just continue with 2993 - he worked once, it's more likely he'll work again and stick than for him to work again and end in miscarriage. But if you have a lot of nerves about it, just switch to someone new to ease your mind. If you're stress free and confident then things are probably more likely to work(Just my opinion, not scientific)

I am 32 weeks along with donor 2993. We are expecting a baby boy in early December. It took 5 or 6 tries to get pregnant via IUI.
