Anyone Dr suggest waiting a certain period of time before trying for baby #2?

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone else had a Dr suggest waiting a certain number of months before a sibling attempt or between pregnancies? I was advised to wait at least 18 months between the birth of my first child and the first sibling attempt, so that the body has time to heal and become "back to normal" after pregnancy and birth.

Thanks!

Yes, this is a common suggestion. My doctor also made the same suggestion. Most of friend's doctors said the same thing.

I was told anytime after my baby was six months old was an acceptable wait time. We are hoping to try again when she is a year old.

We told our Dr our plan was 12 months after. He was fine with it. We had our first child on attempt 5. Now we are pregnant with twins from our frozen embryos on first attempt. He told us that my body was way less stressed out so it was a little easier.

I don't know what doctors suggest but I do have a couple friends and family who have ended up with babies only 13 months apart. They have all had healthy second pregnancies. But I'm sure your body would appreciate a little break.
