Hello, my partner and I want to have a child. We are clueless to how buying sperm and everything works. Can anyone here help with some advice which is more successful IUI or IFA I think those are the abbreviations....

Here are some great resources for those just starting the process:
From the Fairfax Cryobank Blog: Beginner’s Guide to Infertility, Step by Step, or Top 5 Tips to Help Select the Perfect Donor!
From the Fairfax Cryobank Website: Getting Started, Donor Catalog, or Sperm Donor FAQs. -
I've never heard of IFA before. If you are trying from home (turkey baster method) you'll want to purchase vials prepared for IUI. These have already been washed and are ready to use (minus he thawing of course). If you are going through a clinic, you'll want to purchase vials of ICI. These have yet to be washed. Our clinic automatically washes the specimens, so if we purchased IUI vials they would be washed twice, thereby decreasing the quantity of the sperm. IVF is for if you are having your eggs extracted and they only need a small amount of sperm to put in a Petrie dish to fertilize your egg( s). Hope that helps. Are you going to be trying at home or through a clinic? We use Shady Grove and have found them most helpful. Best of luck!
