Hey all. Looking for some advise as I am on the fence currently about having the HSG test done which is scheduled for this Thursday. I am in a same sex relationship, and all other blood test have come back normal. I have regular periods etc. Dr. said we can have the HSG or not that it was up to us. If there were not any problems found it would at least just clean out the pipes.
We are having our first IUI next week (assuming ovulation occurs) and I am on the fence on whether or not to have the procedure done. We are spending so much already in the pregnancy that another $2500 we could save for future rounds if needed.
Just wondering y'alls thoughts? We have a 3 1/2 year old my partner carried she had the HSG (we didn't know any better) that at the time was covered by insurance. I am carrying our second (hopefully) using the same donor.
Just looking for thoughts....

Hi, I had success without one on my 2nd attempt. I was 30. I had 2 afterwards with no success. I think it is really hit and miss. Good luck -
All of my blood work was normal, however my doctor doesn't do insemination's without an HSG first. I had to have two tests the first he thought that I because I was nervous and tense that my Fallopian tubes closed up. The second test showed that I did in fact have blocked tubes, so you really cant tell by the blood work. I had surgery to unblock them and then had my first IUI.

I did not have an hsg & we were successful on our 2nd iui. Good luck

I had the test. I had it during surgery to remove a cyst and my tube was blocked. I just had my first IUI on Thursday and am currently in Tww.
