Anyone get a bfp after 5th iui?

DLPDLP Junior Member Junior Member
Hi everyone,

Trying very hard to not feel discouraged, but today brought AF, making iui attempt # 4 a failure. I'm a tough cookie, but I don't think I could have mentally prepared myself for the sadness, disappointment, and just an overwhelming feeling of being let down each time I get AF. And since I'm doing this on my own, I have a core group of close friends and family that know I'm TTC for support, but I'm now wishing I was flying completely solo on this journey so I didn't have to keep telling people when another cycle fails. I'm only allowing myself tonight to wallow though, so apologies for throwing this message out there...but, I could really use a few stories of successful 5th tries to help lift me up a little...anyone? :) Thanks in advance!

I got pregnant on my 4th IUI, miscarried at 8 weeks, then did 7 more IUIs (11 total) and 2 IVF. My daughter is 8 months and a perfect darling - I call her my Lucky 13!

In hindsight, I would have moved onto IVF much more quickly if I were to do it again

Hi DLP, I'm really sorry your 4th try didn't work out. I was in the same boat, doing it on my own, and my 5th IUI WAS successful and now I have a beautiful, perfect 3.5 month old daughter, so it can happen (I'm 41 now). Don't lose hope! It is such an emotional roller coaster, and even though I also have an amazing support system, after my 2nd unsuccessful IUI, I elected not to tell anyone about when I was getting a procedure, just so I didn't have to face the questions about whether it had worked, even though I knew they were coming from a place of love and hope. For me, it made the whole process a lot easier to manage emotionally, but I know everyone's different. On the plus side, it felt like a wonderful secret between me and my baby those first few weeks after my BFP before I told anyone I was pregnant.

I wish you the absolute best luck. Take care!

Well Apriljoy seems like #5 was my lucky number too! I am 10 weeks tomorrow, so far so good :)

Thank you to everyone for the support!
