Has anyone used accurpuncture during IUI?
Do you think it helped?
When in cycle did you use it?

absolutely used it. started it a month before my 4th iui and 10 months later had my son. There are many previous threads about the topic. I used acupuncture along with the book the infertility cure. I changed my diet and did acupuncture every week for a month before the iui and than every week except for the week right after the iui. i did it all throughout my pregnancy and it even helped me right before labor.
I would recommend it to anyone!

I looked into it but it seemed really expensive. Between buying sperm and copays at the doctor, we can't afford it.

I used it before IUI #3 once a week up until the IUI & then a couple of days later. I got pregnant that IUI but sadly ended in MMC at 8 weeks. Yes it is very expensive but I found ways to pay for it such as flexible spending dollars and bonus check money. I still have not had a live birth and have done 6 IUIs and 4 IVFs but I am definitely a believer. It's relaxing and you need a build up to total relaxation so that's why they recommend starting a month or more prior to your procedure. If you can't afford acupuncture try listening to some relaxation mediations. I bought the Circle & Bloom series (they will send you a coupon for 35% off your first purchase if you sign up for their newsletter first). They are like 15 minute and designed for whatever procedure you're doing and I would listen before bed and slept very soundly. I ordered them on my computer and eventually downloaded them to my phone so that I can have them with me if I am traveling. Make sure if you explore the acupuncture option you get someone who specializes in fertility. All acupuncturists are not created equal!
