  • I know that all of the other ladies have moved on, but here I am. We paid for our vial today. Husband had a vasectomy 19 years ago and I had my tubes tied 15 years ago. (Different spouses) Add to that I'm that magic "45". So we're doing donors for both, with me carrying. (Sperm donation is VERY MUCH less expensive than a sperm retrieval). We're way excited! We've choosen through our clinic to do family balancing so that our 4 boys will have a little sister.

We've choosen a sperm donor for his blood type and his family history (they're almost all doctors.) But I think he's new so no confirmed pregnancies yet. I'm adopted so we agreed that she didnt have to "look" like anyone other than herself.

Our egg donor reported the first day of her period today. How can I bear the slow ache of time from now until July when the transfer will proceed?!

Gosh! I'm scared and excited all mixed in. We arent telling family and friends yet. We don't think that the stress of having them ask if "it worked" would be a happy situation if it doesnt right off the first time.

  • my husband and I conceived our first and only child through IUI, and we waited for about 8 months on a waiting list in order to get more vials of the same donor, the call finally came in feb 2010

    Hi Donornumber 2451,
We had a daughter, Mackenzie, born on 2/21/2007. I would love to be in contact with you via forum.

I'm attaching a picture of Mackenzie when she was 5.
