Donor # 2839

I have a confirmed pregnancy for donor 2839 and I was looking to connect with anyone that has used 2839. I did sign up for the private forum but sadly, I am the only one...

Thanks

I decided to start a yahoo group for this donor in hopes to find others who have used him and have been unable to find anyone else who has.

    Thanks!

I used donor 2839. I am 30 weeks pregnant with a little boy. I am a single parent with 2 teenage girls. I am excited there is another person out there that has used the same donor I have.

Hiiii All! I've been searching all over this board looking for any successful stories on this donor. I've joined the yahoo group but waiting on approval. I would really love to see any pics and your stories. I'm willing to share our story.

I think I might use 2839 this month. He was already on my list of favorites, and with all of the positive feedback you guys have posted I think he might be the "one" this time :) I tried with 4001 and got a BFN...I know that might not mean anything, as he does have confirmed pregnancies, but thought I might switch it up this time. I hope he still has good swimmers :)

    Hey Babynumber2,

Well I know in our particular situation, he had alot of excellent swimmers, we got pregnant on our first try. Our little boy will be here in September. Plus, the donor isn't bad looking! :D Good luck and I hope that #2839 will be just as successful with you!

    Hello everyone.
I know I'm late to the party.
We have one more cycle to try.
I'm trying to convince my RE to do back to back IUI's for our last cycle.
I refuse to go out with a wimper!

I was looking at this donor as I am 100% Polish, and none of our other donors are available.

Can I ask how this donors numbers were?
  • bilbrey828bilbrey828 Member Member
He was great. He got pregnant on our first try. With our vial there was 14 million swimmers. Pretty good if you ask me! :D He for sure is polish. Did you buy the pictures?

I will be doing back to back IUI's with this donor in May and wanted to know if anyone had any updates or pictures they could share.
  • tuliptulip Junior Member Junior Member
Hi, we are doing IUI this May too using donor 2839 sperm :P
  • sweetpeasweetpea Member Member
That's great! Be sure and let me know how it goes with you and I will do the same. I should be going around May 15.
  • tuliptulip Junior Member Junior Member
I will. I think I will go around the same time. Can't wait!!! I hope it will be our lucky one. Good luck to you too!

Well, I went in for my baseline sono to start Clomid for the first time and guess what - she say a cyst. Maybe this has been my problem all along. So, hopefully, we can forge ahead next month.

Sorry about your cyst. I've had those in the past. But FYI the doctor can put you on low dose birth control pills for about a week and that will "shrink" the cysts. It essentially will start you back at cycle day 1 after about a week. If you're cool with waiting another month that's fine but what if it's still there?? Chat with the doc to consider all your options. Good luck!!

Since this was the first time I have done a baseline sono, she wanted to see me again next month to see if it went away on it's own. If not, then she would put me on BCP. She said it was 27mm big.

Did you have your IUI? How did it go and what were your #'s? I am going in for another sonogram the end of next week and hopefully will be trying back to back IUI mid June.

Hi! Yes we tried our first IUI, and result was neagtive. This month the doctor send me for HSG test that didn't go very well too, they couldn't put the catheter in. So they decided I need hysteroscopy. That actually went great, doctor said everyhting is perfect and that radiologist couldn't insert the catheter just beacuse they don't know women's body as much.
So that is my story so far. I am waiting now till the next month to do again HSG test and the second IUI.
  • sweetpeasweetpea Member Member
Sorry to hear about your negative and the trouble you had with the test. Hopefully things will go better on your next cycle. Just know that I got great #'s on back to back IUI's (16.4 mil and 22 mil). I should know by 6-25 if I have a peanut!

Good luck to both of you guys! I can speak for several of the parents of this donor that he does help make some gorgeous babies!!

Well, my 7th IUI didn't work.
  • moewhit25moewhit25 Senior Member Senior Member
Awee Sweetpea :-( I'm so sorry about your BFN. It sucks and I've certainly been there. Might be time to buy a ticket on the IVF express train. It looks like you did several unmedicated cycles. After the third cycle I would have chosen a more aggressive approach. But of course hindsight is 20/20. Why not go for the big guns since your're over 35. Many of us on here have done 7 or more cycles and for whatever reason eventhough we respond to the meds it just doesn't work :-( There are no guarantees and you can only do what's in your heart. I personally lost faith in the IUI process and knew when I couldn't do another cycle but I wasn't ready to give up competely. Take some time to regroup and rethink your plans. Sometimes it helps to step back and take some time away from being consumed with this challenging and often heartbreaking journey.

Be kind to yourself. Hope that you are doing okay....

Thanks and I really wish I could do IVF, but my insurance doesn't cover anything and I can't afford it out of pocket. It is just so discouraging. Why does this have to come down to money!!
  • sine4mesine4me Senior Member Senior Member
Hey sweetpea, I'm so sorry about your BFN. Just my 2 cents, I completely understand where you're coming from. I had 5 failed IUI's and just can't do anymore. Like you, my insurance covers none of this and it's all out of my own pocket. During the 2WW of the last IUI I had to explore other IVF options and found that there are quite a few. The US is the most expensive for IVF, if you go outside the US it's a fraction of the cost. There are also some places in the US that do low cost IVF. I found a clinic that I think is awesome in NY that is about a third of the price with my doctor here in AZ, I'll be doing IVF with them in Sept. If you want the information that i've gathered and that was sent to me, let me know and I can PM it over to you.

    Good luck.

That would be great. I really appreciate it. I have talked with my doctor and will be doing some more tests to see what my ovarian reserve is and if I have any autoimmune or insulin disorders that might be affecting me getting and staying pregnant.
  • tuliptulip Junior Member Junior Member
Sweatpea I am so sorry to hear that IUI didn't work for you. I so understand your worries about expanses. My insurance is not going to cover IVF so that is not an option for me. We decided if IUI doesn't work this time we will wait a year and then we'll try again. We had second IUI yesterday and today I got a call from my nurse saying they want to me to do some shots. She said she will show me how to do it and the next 2 I will do myself at home. I assumed it is shot of HCG but I heard that they usually do it before IUI not after. Do you know anything about it?
By the way do you remember I said my first HSG test wasn't successful well the hospital still charged me for it. The good thing insuranse covered everything but $100. And this month I had to do HSG again but in a different clinic and results were great. They said tubes are perfect and that it should increase my chances to get pregnant. I hope!!! My only consern now how much I will have to pay for it.
