Oh my god, this has been the longest two weeks of my life! 11dpo today, blood test on Thursday. It's my first IUI so I really am not trying to get my hopes up. If this cycle doesn't work, I'm doing Clomid and Ovidrel next time.

    Good luck Sheannca!!!

Thank you! My 1st IUI was a success! Currently 4w6d. :) No morning sickness yet, just super sore breasts, frequent urination, and dysgeusia.

Hi All- New to the group. Excited to start with donor 4991. We snagged maybe the last of the vials since Fairfax said he's no longer actively donating. He's waitlisted now! Happy to see so many positives!

My wife and I are starting the egg retrieval process this week for IVF (using Donor 4991 sperm). We had 6 failed IUIs between us (4 & 2) and decided to stop playing the financial gamble since everything is 100% OOP for us. I’ll keep everyone updated down the line.

Awesome. Good luck to you and your wife Mrccif! Hope all goes well for you.

I decided to take this round off and unless I'm able to get another (4991) vial, my next procedure will be an IVF. I'm with you Mrccif, not sure I want to take the chance with the IUI anymore. So, I'm going to take a couple months off so I can get the finances together but also become a healthier me. I don't like the amount of weight I've gained in the last couple months. I'm going back to the gym and hopefully integrate yoga and meditation. Come March I'll be starting my IVF with donor 4991. I'll still log on regularly to find out how you're all progressing. :)

We did our first IUI yesterday (12/3) with donor 4991. Our sample had 24 million sperm with 42% motility.

Hi Everyone! I'm currently in the TWW after an IUI with a different donor but this is an active thread, hope you don't mind my waiting with you ;) I sort of vary between feeling I'm too positive and possibly unrealistic, to potentially feeling worried and negative (though that was before the IUI while I was doing the ultrasounds). I'm very hopeful. Wishing the best to all of the other TWWers

Hi Dee, Just keep yourself busy and take your mind off of things. Do something fun to not worry. Good luck!

Hi MRCCJF. May I ask were all the failed cycles with 4991? I've heard such positive news after one or two IUI's with this donor. I'm so sorry for your and your wife's struggles! Do you have any saved information or remember sperm motility and count? We purchased 4991 and will be attempting our first IUI at the end of this month!!! Excited to see how IVF goes for you.

    Hi Baby_Journey 7,

We did use 4991 for all 6 of the IUIs. You’re right though, it does appear many women have had early success with 4991 on IUI #1 or #2. I figure, odds at my age each IUI were 15% and I just never took that lucky roll. I could have kept trying IUIs, but at some point I had to decide when that money would be better put towards IVF. My wife and I had our egg retrievals this past week, and we have a total of 16 fertilized eggs that we are anxiously waiting to see if they turn to day 5/6 embryos. If I’ve learned anything from watching my friends, everyobody’s Journey is different. I am slightly older (37 next month), so that could be part of it. But it could also have just been unlucky. Here’s to hoping IVF is our lucky route. Good luck with your first IUI with 4991. Fortunately we have backup vials if we need to keep trying.

I believe it will all work out in the end! I am 40 and it worked on the first IUI for me even with the fertility issues. It is so hard to predict how your body will react to get pregnant. I learned not to blame it on anything because I have seen all situations work in bad conditions and not work in good conditions. The idea is to stay positive and keep relaxed and things will work out. I am sure out of 16 eggs one is bound to make it happen.

I agree with Taball, Mrccif. Those look like good odds. I hope everything works out well for you. I'm following your lead as I will do my IVF in March. Hopefully it works for me as well. I got the very last vial of 4991 and 1 vial is all I have left of 4991. Yikes!
