I agree with Taball, Mrccif. Those look like good odds. I hope everything works out well for you. I'm following your lead as I will do my IVF in March. Hopefully it works for me as well. I got the very last vial of 4991 and 1 vial is all I have left of 4991. Yikes!

Sheannca I have been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. I wish you the best with your IVF!

    Hi Waited40!

That's so sweet. I've thought about you recently as well. Despite being antsy for March to come, I'm doing well. I've decided during this time that I wait, I will get healthier so I'm in my best shape for the procedure. I have gained a considerable amount of weight in the last couple years, as I was in school and not fully taking care of myself and these last couple months the weight really packed on. Not sure if the fertility drugs had a hand in as well. So, I joined WW a week ago and am down just under 6 lbs. Soon, I will return to my gym and probably start taking yoga classes.

I don't know what the future IVF procedure has in store for me. I'm hopeful that it will work but nothing is guaranteed. I'll have just turned 40 when I start the process. Hopefully my age won't be a factor.

I'm sorry it hasn't worked for you thus far. If I were to bestow any insight on you, is that at least you have a plan which also leads to IVF. So, you're doing everything that you can. Perhaps your destiny is to have multiples which is more possible with IVF. Ever think of that? Try to find some positive in all this. The positive thinking will get you through this. :)

Thanks for the support, taball. I finished my Tww and came back with negative. I was pretty hopeful though the odds aren't so great with my numbers and age. I am definitely taking all the positives and what I've learned for the next round to see what can be done to improve my chances!

Just keep it going. How many vials do you have? All it takes is one to get in there.

I have two more vials. After taking a day to wallow a little I regrouped and have been increasing my knowledge. I have done some conferring with my RE. I'm 39 and my numbers are way below average for my age so we are will be looking at how to be more aggressive. I had wanted to be 'more natural' and hoped for success. The good news is that I have a few frozen eggs from a retrieval a few years ago (was hoping to find a partner) so we're going to work on moving forward with those in January.

Good that you have a good plan to get this going. Wish you luck on this.

Don't get discouraged! All you need is one! How many times are you going to try?
  • TechSavvyTechSavvy Junior Member Junior Member
We have 4 vials, so I guess we'll try 4 times with 4991 before we need to choose another donor. My wife is definitely taking it much harder than me but I guess my heart break was in being diagnosed as infertile.

    Hi everyone,

just a quick word to say I will try my first IUI and join the journey in January 2018, cannot wait!
I know Fairfax allows to Private Forums by Donor Number / Sibling Registry, I was wondering whether there is already one created for donor 4991 I can join?
In the meantime, I take this opportunity to wish you all a restful holiday season and a very happy 2018.

    Hi HTGN,

We usually just communicate on this forum for 4991 or any of the other forums with 4991. We have a private group on FB for those who are pregnant with 4991 to make it easier. Good luck for you in January and keep in touch with us so we can know how your process. Read through the forums we have and you can get an idea of everyone's journey. I think so far there are 8 pregnancies, one set of twins.

Hopefully this works out for you that you won't have to go to another donor. Don't forget to reach out for any extra vials that may be available for 4991 before you go to another donor. Some may be available.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to get on here and say I am in day 1 of my tww right now. Who knew time could pass by so slowly. Any suggestions to help calm my mind ?

Keep yourself busy!!! That's what I did. I was at a conference all week. Forgot all about the wait to the point I was about to have a drink and caught myself after one sip!

I have been busy at work so it has helped a little. I also took a test and getting a faint line at 11 dpiui. Hopefully that means something good!

A faint line does mean positive, but I would get the clear blue that gives a definite pregnant or not pregnant result to be sure.

Well on my 11dpiui I took a first response digital test and it came back saying YES !!! Took a test on 12dpiui and 13dpiui and the line is darker. Hopefully going on Wednesday to get my blood work done. So I guess it's safe to say I have a sticky bean with donor 4991.

    Hello,

I am new to this forum, I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but my wife and I have been using donor 4991 for several iui cycles now. Since he is no longer donating, I am hoping to see if anyone has any vials available to sell? (either now, or in the future).

    Thank you.

    Hello,

My wife and I are new to this forum and have been using donor 4991 for several cycles. We are looking to purchase more vials if anyone has any to sell back. Thank You.

    Hi BabyBun18,

Welcome to the forum. There was one person selling but I am not sure they sold theirs already. If you search 4991, the post should come up and you can reach out to them.

I am still deciding if I am going to sell mine. I will make a decision by next month and post to everyone if I do.

I'm in the market to purchase more vials as well if you do end up re-selling yours taball. Just wanting to be safe considering how this process has gone for my wife and I so far.
