You can actually do an unmedicated cycle (or at least mine was somewhat). They waited until my lead follicle was 18mm+ and my uterine lining was 8mm+ to have me take the trigger shot and then didnthr transfwr 7 days later. They were trying to see if my body would react better to it’s own rhythm.

I do know that the progesterone prevents your period from coming, so with medicated cycles that crampy feeling can either be pregnancy (yay!) or the progesterone holding your period back.

How is the TWW going? Not too much longer! :)

OMG girl! For what the IVF is costing me, they better give me meds. It's been a ride for sure. I can't begin to tell you how meticulous this clinic is. The day of the transfer my progesterone was 29.1 and they like it be me 30, they put my on a new med that I will take into 10 weeks. Just to give a comparison, they told me if you asked an OBGYN they would say 12 and above is good. But they are extremely picky. I guess in the long run, I rather they be.

I should have gone this route in the first place, given my age, my doctor suggested it too, but there's such an extreme price difference between IUI and IVF, I tried my odds.

I didn't realize your transfer was 7 days after your retrieval. That's cool. My process start to finish...4 months. Ugh!!! I've had to have plenty of patience. How far along are you now?

I'm doing great. I test this Friday. I'm 3 1/2 days late. Besides how regular I am and some noticeable (but slight) symptoms....I'm pretty sure.... :)

It finally happened!!! After trying for 3 years with donor 4991, 2 IUIs, 3 IVF transfers, 3 surgeries, a lot of delays, and a ton of lifestyle changes, this morning I finally got my BFP (with donor 4991). Its been a long road and because I can appreciate and respect the struggles other have gone through and continue to go through, I won’t go into my details, but I’m proof that despite the struggles it can happen. This was my last embryo from my original retrieval with no remaining vials. To say I’m in shock doesn’t do justice. I look forward to what the future holds.
