No meds for me yet. I asked about after this next try. But the meds they want me to take can cause cysts. And since I already have this one cyst that likes to reappear I'm kinda Leary of taking it. I'm going to have to make an appt to discuss my options. I'm wondering why she wants to do this drug instead of clomid.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Hmm. Do you just have cyst or pcos. If you don't mind me asking?

  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
Ok just got done at the sonogram. It was inconclusive. I had 3 follicles on left 1 on the right. None bigger than 13. He said it was too early so I have another appt on Tuesday. I get endometriosis cysts. They are also called chocolate cysts. But because it's bad if it bursts they have to remove them. He did say the femara would not affect the cyst I get so that's good news. But I'm still going to check with my doctor on Tuesday!!!!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
Oh and I don't have pcos. Just the fibroid, cyst and endometriosis.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Well that all sounds like good news! Follicles are good and seem to be at the right size for your day. Don't you think? I think mine were around that at day 11 last month. And two days later they were at 3. Does this mean you don't have to skip a month?
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
Negative test. But until I get my period, I'm staying positive!
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Absolutely. I know multiple women who didn't test positive till after a missed cycle. Especially if you implant late.
Fingers crossed, baby dust all the way!

Been busy this past week and I see I have missed a lot. I finished my 5-days of Clomid. I am not typically an emotional person, but wow. I ended up having the ugly cry on a lunch break in front of a lot of people and it all started over a piece of chicken! I am day 10 today, and stark on the OPK's... Monday I go in for my mid cycle ultrasound to see if my ovaries and follies reacted to the Clomid. Here is hoping... I suppose sometime next week I will give myself the Ovidrel shot and have our next IUI. This time we are doing piggyback IUIs. Hoping this takes....

Lposh, do you go monday for an u/s?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Pot- I literally busted out laughing reading your thread. Yes the can make you act strange. I was very emotional the first couple days then I felt ultra fat and bloated.
I do have my ultrasound Monday at day 11 I think then have her tell me hopefully when to do my profasi shot and then back to back iui's.
Btw I think my mom is going with me this time. She says anyway. I'll believe it when I see it.

Ok, so I got a positive surge today!!! I knew I should have bet the doctor today!!! Anyway I called the pager for the nurse and was talking to her and said I really don't think they will do anything because my follicles weren't big enough. And some how it came up that the OPK was the flashing smilie and she said oh we don't want the flashing smilie we want the solid stay on the screen smilie. So beyond frustrated right now. Maybe one of these days I will time this right. So she said to keep testing and call if I get the solid stay on the screen smilie. So now I have no idea how much longer it will be for the solid smilie. I don't know how fast the follicles grow, hopefully I will know more at my next ultrasound. I'm so beyond frustrated. Thank God I'm not on meds yet. I would probably be one hot mess right now!!!
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Don't be frustrated and mad! It's great that it's not your surge because your follicles aren't ready yet.) I take this clear blue easy thing every month. First you get the empty O, then some flashy smiles, then the SOLID SMILE. It will come!! I don't trust first response those have failed me twice. I do trust clear blue. It's all I will use now. Trust this is your week. And mine. And Pot.

Lisa- I seriously thought the world was going to end. Lucky me, and even better than a few of my co-workers and the big boss got to whiteness it all. Thankfully, everyone that saw are good friends and the rest of the week chicken was the big joke.

My u/s is tomorrow morning... here's hoping there are multiple follies this time.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
    High five to that!!
My appt is at 2:00. I'm very excited.)

And don't feel alone about the emotions. Last month I cried in the team leads office twice and in the middle of the patient hallway because I was convinced people in another country were trying to steal my grandmothers retirement!! I had planned to take control of her finance's!! Thank God my Mom and friends talked me down.
Anything that was somewhat low/medium on the drama scale was a 12 in my mind!! Most of my co workers know now i'm on the meds..Guess it was only a matter of time before they had to know.
    Kisses

Came across this thread and am glad to know I am not the only crazy chic out there counting the next months calendar days! Lol. I am also 37 turning 38 this month. My husband and I have an 18 month old who we love more than I could of ever imagined. So we naturally want to give him a sibling. I became pregnant with twins in February but lost them in April, after finding out they were high risk mo/mo twins. :-( I was so nervous at first (for about an hour) then absolutely ecstatic, then devastated 10 weeks later. After having a D & C I had to wait two months to find out I had a thick lining so had to wait on another month to try which brings me to now. I went in Friday and the NP said I have 3 follies cooking up good! She asked if that scared me I was like heck no bring it on, I don't have any insurance coverage for fertility either (don't get me started on that), so a two for one deal would be ok with me! As far as meds go I went unmediated for two times then did the trigger shot on the 3rd time which worked like a charm for my son. OPK's always failed me because I ovulated early so I always go in for several ultrasounds. My doctors office are awesome and they know I have little reserve of my donor sperm left and am using non-standard quality sperm so I am on Femara/Bravelle and Ovidrel this round as well as I was with the identical twins. So back I go tomorrow to see how big those follies are and probably have an IUI either Tuesday or Wednesday. Am glad to join you ladies in tww or hell weeks as I call them. Good luck to you all and may God bless all of you.

So as I expected I got my solid smilie today. I paged the after hours nurse and she is getting me in at 10:15 tomorrow morning. I will have another sonogram to see if my follicle on the right has grown enough for me to do IUI this time. However during my apt yesterday the doctor said I ovulate way to early. So now I'm afraid that this isn't working because of that. I did read that the follicles grow anywhere from 1 to 3 mm in a 24 hour period. So if the one that was 12 something is the mature one it is possible that by tomorrow it will be about 14 (to small) to 18 (ok). Hoping for the 18, but I believe the 12 follicle was on the left side which means I wouldn't be able to try. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but not getting my hopes up, I believe I will be sitting this month out.

    Hey Ladies,
The thought of being a SMBC scares me greatly, although I have been focused on doing what I need to do since February when I had a surgery to have an ovarian cyst removed. Last month (July) I got +OPK, had my DS chosen, but then started to freak out with the possibility of being pregnant in 2+/- weeks, so I decided to wait until this month. I have read A LOT of posts on here and there is so much support on this forum that I now realize that I am not the only one out there doing this by myself. Only a couple of my friends (who are very supportive) know my plans to go this route. I have not shared this at all with my other friends and family (except to my brother about a year and half ago; kinda in passing) as I feel the emotional stress of being asked "How are things going" would be too much at least at this point. So for now I have opted to not say anything until I get a BFP. Has anyone else had a similar experience in that they feel they would rather not say anything to anyone about their journey using DS until they get the BFP and are planning for their baby's arrival!!

Welcome to our new joiners! In the beginning, I told beat few people but prior up starting my first IUI I expanded the group and don't have any regrets. My friends and family are so supportive and it is great to have them checking in with me and offering support. T
Texas, good luck and keep us updated!!

OMG is about how I am feeling right now. This is our 4th cycle and our first using meds. I took 50 mg of Clomid day 2-7. Sounds great yeah?

We last month I had one egg that was a VERY slow grower and we did an IUI after a trigger shot.

I went in today for my mid-cycle ultrasound and I have 7 viable eggs and 5 are already mature with the others hitting tomorrow if they keep growing. I am having my IUI done Wed/Thursday unless I show positive on an opk today. I about fell off the table witht he final numbers... I am a bit um nervous at this point.

Anyone do Clomid? I am interested to know your numbers... I know Lposh has her mid cycle today too.

    Thoughts?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Hey Pot- that is fantastic news!!! I did have four follicles last month. I think 3 or all of them were mature on iui day.
I'm at the ob right now. I am day 12 so I hope I am showing something good. I'll tell ya in a few!
Denise- how are you doing? Have you re tested?
    Lisa

Posh- 7 makes me nervous! I wasn't looking for a reality show! :) Looking forward to hearing your news. I am going to trigger tonight and do IUI Wednesday and Thursday. Fingers crossed!!!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
Went to the dr this am. She thinks I got a false positive on the OPK. My follicles and lining still aren't where they should be. Good news is the dominant follicle is on the right. I go for a progesterone check on Wednesday. If it comes back that I haven't ovulated then I go in for another ultrasound on Thursday if everything is good and the numbers are better I get trigger shot Thursday night and IUI Saturday.

Looks like the three of us will be on the rollercoaster ride again for the dreaded TWW.
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
So glad you ladies are close to IUI time!! I am 16dpiui, negative pregnancy tests on days 14 and 15 and 1 day late for AF. Not sure what is going on but I am not going to test again until the end of the week if still no AF.
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
D-Rizzy at least no AF yet... fingers and legs crossed for you. Posh- how was the appointment?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Appt was good. Five follicles and two are over 3 so that's good. So I'm doing my trigger shot Wednesday then iui on Thursday at noon and Friday at noon!! If this doesn't work idk what I'm gonna do!.. Lol
My ob did flinch a tiny bit when I told her two vials where there. She said I don't want to give you twins or triplets! I said yes on the twinzies no on trippsies.. Lol
But ultimately it wasn't an issue. So it went perfect. And my mother went!! I know I'm shocked my darn self. I'm she came.
And of course now one of residents at work asked me for a first lunch date Thursday. He doesn't know anything about this.
    I said "I can't I have a doctors appt!" He said "I am a doctor too"
I almost fell over. I had no idea what to say.
I don't think he or I are prepared for that.. Lol
So it sounds like we are all in sync with our cycles and TWW.. lol very cool.
Denise- I'm excited no AF for you. I have a good feeling. And your so calm. I'd be freaking out!!
Tx- keep me updated on your ultrasounds.)
And welcome new ladies/friends to this thread. No one understands me like you. All of you have been my life line through this. Muuahhh

    Hi everyone,
My wife and I are going for our first iui tomorrow and followed by another one on Wednesday , yesterday we went for the ultrasound and had two follicles one at 19-1/2 and other at 16 , we were told they wanted them to be a little bigger, what's a good size? The trigger shot was done today, wish us luck!!!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
    Posh- YAY!

My numbers are: left 1.5, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1(they assume by Wednesday when I IUI that the 1.2 and 1.3 will be ready as well) they didn't say much about the 1.1.

Right 2.1, 1.9, 1.6 they consider anything over 1.5 to be good and 1.9 and higher mature. Right now I have 5 that are the right size and will grow between now and Wednesday/Thursday and at least one more that will catch up. I think that's right. Either way, I trigger tomorrow since I didn't get a positive OPK today. Here's hoping baby dust for everyone.
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
Good luck to everyone!! Still no AF and no signs of starting. I really feel like this was my month so I think I am going on the assumption I am pregnant. It will be even tougher this time around if I'm not but I have you ladies to pout with if needed!! Lisa, I'm with you girl. Triplets would be scary!!
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
