    Wow,
how great to hear all this great news! I have to check back on the actual site more often.. For some reason I don't see all of the new posts on the app for my phone. I am thinking about all of you and sending lots of baby dust!

Anne and Moe so glad to hear about the babies! Isn't it weird when you poke and they poke back. Just wait until you can feel the different parts sticking out! I never got to see a foot stick out of my belly but I know many that have!

I had my embryo transfer this morning and had 3 transferred. Now the wait lol! The embies were great! i got pics of them and grading and everything. They went ahead and transferred a 4AB, 4BB and a 3CC. The doctor said because of my age, he recommended transferring 3 instead of 2. Thanksgiving is going to be great this year, i'll find out Thanksgiving morning. I'll have my own turkey in the oven! :D

Yay!!! Here's to a very Happy Turkey Day! Hope you have sticky beans. I also had three transferred and thankfully one stuck. Sending prayers your way and lots of sticky baby dust!

Hi, sine4me. I am praying that all goes well for you. Being pregnant for Thanksgiving is such a wonderful blessing. Keep us updated as I would love to hear some encouraging news.

I had my egg retrieval today. I had 22 follies, but they retrieved only 12 eggs which I am told is still a good number. I am set to have my transfer possibly on Wednesday or Friday the very latest. I can't wait! I keep telling my husband that we will be pregnant this week :)

    HEY everybody.

I know it has been a long while since i have posted..life has been hectic to say the least. I wanted to give you all a quick update on my little guy. He is doing great and is home with us safe and sound. He is so strong and so special and i can say all of my struggles have been worth it. When you hold your baby in your arms you will forget all the bad times. you will forget all the tears shed and be left only with a smile on your face. SO where ever you might be in your journey. Struggling with IUI's, starting IVF, waiting to get to 12 weeks or even on bed rest KEEP FIGHTING!! I have been through all of those hard things and made it to the other side. I will now get to hold my Christmas miracle on Christmas morning and thank god for the most true blessing of all. Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers and constantly praying for my son. Thank you all for listening to me vent when i was down or cheering me up after another failed cycle. you all are always in my prayers.

Wishing you all the happiest holiday season and a new year filled with new hope.

    xoxo

Charlotte, I'm so happy to hear that your little man is healthy and at home! What a wonderful blessing. You have been an inspiration.

I'm on restricted activity and loving being out of bed! I'm at 23 weeks 4 days and just taking each day as it comes. Praying each day for another healthy day of pregnancy. I remember my blessings and think of all of you.

You are still in my prayers and love your Christmas miracle!
  • moewhit25moewhit25 Senior Member Senior Member
Oh, Charlotte that's wonderful news. Glad that your Christmas miracle has made it safely home. This has certainly been a rollercoaster ride and an overall challenging journey!

Anne, keep up the good work. Stay positive and continue to count your blessings.

I've entered my third trimester and after the Thanksgiving holiday, I've popped out. It's crazy that up until the end of my second trimester I only gained 8 pounds. Now it's about 10 pounds thanks to all the turkey, stuffing, and awesome desserts. Doctor has never been concerned about my weight and just reassures me that everything is measuring perfectly. I keep Googling average weight gain and it's always way higher, but everyone gains at different rates based on body type. Now I look like a skinny bean pole that swallowed a medium cabbage...now that's attractive!! NOT!!!!

I hope that everyone had a great holiday and that all is well where ever you are on your journey!

Thanks ladies!!!! Awww, Anne, thank you!!!! You two were so sweet! I am still doing my meds, but I'm feeling like an expert with injectables now! Crazy....LOL. Anne, what was that advice about watermelon, again??? I'm probably going to have the egg retrieval on 12/16 or 12/17. Looks like I have about 6 on right and 2 on left...so hopefully get 8 eggs! My next appt is on Wednesday, so I'll have a better idea! Please keep me in your prayers. I'm just feeling really calm and confident for some reason....hope that's a good thing. =)

Good luck Maria. Hope you get tons of good quality healthy eggs

The watermelon - eat tons of watermelon the day before your retrieval up until the time of food cut-off. This helps plump up your veins and make the IV go in easier. And then, once you are pregnant, watermelon is a great help with nausea!
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
Thanks Anne! You're amazing! I'll have to go buy some watermelon! Hope all is well with your pregnancy now....are you off restricted duties?

@Moe, I can't believe you're 30 weeks! How are you doing? Did you have 2 embryo transfers? Wow, you and Anne had 2 and both got pregnant! =) Good news!

Makes me feel hopeful...esp since I think I'll have egg retrieval on Saturday or Sunday!

    Hi Maria!!
I've never heard about the watermelon thing but my nurse advised me that drinking Gatorade and salty foods will help with the bloating after the transfer. Sometimes there's a small amount of OHSS that develops from all of the follicle development and the fertiity meds. I think I picked up about 5-8 extra pounds of water weight, very uncomfortable. During my frozen transfer I had 3 embroys placed and my doctor wanted to use all 4. I said no and really don't know if I would have had twins since it took 3 to get 1 sticky bean. It's all a game a chance! Just keep a positive outlook.

I'm rounding the bend and will be 31 weeks tomorrow. Slowly putting weight on and basically look the same except now it looks like I'm stealing a head of lettuce from the grocery store LOL.. Feeling good for the most part. Today I received my first baby shower gift. It's been such a sad sad day from all of the little ones and teachers that died today and my heart has been heavy. So seeing the unexpected gift on my doorstep made me smile.

Good luck with your transfer. Sending prayers and sticky baby dust your way!! Keep us posted!

Hi ladies, I thought I would check in since it's been a while since I posted and yes I am still on the fertility ferris wheel! I just had my 3rd retrieval on Saturday (1st IVF cycle BFN; 2nd chemical) and they got 5 eggs and I had one empty follie. Out of the 5 they got, 3 of them fertilized so they are now frozen and I will have my transfer sometime next month. My doc wants to do one more retrieval and select embryos from that batch plus the 3 that are frozen but I just don't know that I have it in me to make more eggs! So stay tuned!

Maria, glad to see you back and best of luck to you! Can't wait to hear your updates!
Moe and Anne you are both nearing the end! So exciting!

Moe I totally agree with you on the heavy heart. When I heard it I cried and thought about all of us and what we're all going through to have babies and it was sickening to know their life could end like that. I absolutely hope it does not but realizing that it's a possibility made me so sad.

Well best of luck to everyone and happy holidays:)
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
@Moe, thanks for your advice and of course your support. Wow, it must be so exciting to be so close...and getting your first baby shower gift is pretty awesome, it must have felt more "real"? I get goosebumps thinking about it.

@Latebloomer, so great to hear from you...wow, honestly, I did the retrieval once and I'm already exhausted...I can't imagine doing it 3 times. You are a brave woman! I wish you lots of luck!

I'm excited, have my transfer scheduled for tomorrow. I'll keep you ladies posted! =)

Maria and Christy congrats to both of you for getting through your retrieval! I hope that you both get your BFP's. Maria, I hope that your TWW flies by quickly. Keep busy. And for you Christy, good for you for getting back on the rollercoaster ride! How the heck does the doctor plan on getting more eggs from you during the same cycle?? You are a strong woman! It took all I had just to get through one fresh IVF cycle. But we do many things on this journey that we didn't think we could do. As always, I'm sending positive thoughts and lots of sticky baby dust.

I'm getting closer to my EDD, my phone app counts down for me and today it says 8 weeks and 1 day or 57 days. WHAT?! Really, OMG...Okay. I don't know what to expect and certainly don't have a "birth plan". I plan on keeping an open mind and getting acupuncture to help things along when the time gets closer. Fortunately, my OB won't let me go past my due date so that's my saving grace.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season, surrounded by loved ones.

Hi, all. I haven't been on here in while and I wanted to check in and give an update.

Moe - I am so happy for you. Being so close to your due date must be so exciting :)

So here's an update: We had a scare on Friday. I had been spotting on and off, but on Friday afternoon, there was actual red blood when I used the restroom at work. It was enough to look like a light period and it went through the pad, was on the tp, and in the toilet! I freaked out and I rushed to the nearest hospital closest to me which is about an hour away. It was strange since I didn't feel it leak out at first but then I felt like it was coming out in clumps as I was trying to walk to my car. Once I was at the hospital, they ran all kinds of tests (blood, pap, my first ultrasound - I found out both embryos took). Everything came out fine except they found that I had a bladder infection and that the ultrasound showed I had a subchoriotic hemmorage (?) in the top of one of the yolk sacs but they got a heartrate so they said that was good - although now that I am reading about it the heartrate seems low at 6 weeks 5 days - it was 89 BPM. They couldn't get a read on the second baby because it kept hiding from view. The radiologist reviewed the ultrasound and along with the HCG levels it still looks like everything is progressing fine. The ER doctor called the on-call OB at my fertility clinic and he told me that they said I might lose one of the babies because they were both transferred at the same time and should be at the same growth. I don't know if they got measurements of the second one or not and I don't know what my HCG levels were because my mind was spinning so I didn't think to ask. Anyways, I have a follow up appointment on Dec 26 - what would have been my first ultrasound - and I shall see from there. So far, I am on pelvic rest (no sex, lifting, etc), but I put myself on bed rest. I am still spotting on and off and keep praying to God that I don't have a miscarriage. I am still saying that I am 7 weeks pregnant with twins today. It's just been a tough week.

That is scary. I also had a big sub chorionic hemorrage at 5.5 weeks. I continued to bleed for about 2-3 weeks. I was on bedrest the whole time. I then had a second bleed at 14 weeks and was on bed rest for another 5-6 weeks. Very scary but you are doing the right thing. I'm now at 27 weeks and doing well. I still am not allowed to lift anything and my activity is somewhat restricted. But just keep the faith. Prayers for you.

Moe..... how exciting! I didnt have a birth plan, my onlyh plan...... deliver the baby and get an epidural! Oh I did go to the acupuncturist to help things bc my doc talked about inducing and I wanted to help things along. Thing was the doc said she wouldnt $et me go past my due date too, until she checked me that monday and I was closed up tighter than fort knox..... so off to acupuncture I went! 2 days later my water broke! I still had to have pitocin bc I was not really contracting. You know the rest! So hopefully you go naturally as the pitocin sucks! Even when they say they wont let you go past uour due date things happen to change their mind (thats when I decided to do things to help).

Ktln..... I am sending prayers as we speak! I believe in the power of the prayers from all the women on here as they have helped at least 2 women I know come very far.....charlotte has a lo at home and anne is nearing her due date! Keep the positive thoughts going!

Latebloomer...... the wait you have had! I can't imagine how good you have gotte with the injections! You are in my prayers nightly. Are you still drinking the apple cinnamon tea? Its cold and snowy here, great weather fo a nice cup of hot tea!

Well ladies I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas! I am sitting here typing as Maks is snoring in bed! He just got up and ate. I hope he slepps a little longer as I am planning to go to midnight mass tonight a family tradition I hope he is ok with! I will be lighting candles for you all! St. Anthony helps us to find things...he helped me find fertility... I will ask him to do the same for you latebloomer and I will ask that he help ktln find health and strength for your babies!

Sending well wishes and hugs to you all!

Well, nothing about this pregnancy is going to be easy. I flunked my first glucose test :( So now I'm hoping to take the 3 hour test on Friday and will hopefully pass it. Otherwise, it's gestational diabetes. Ah well, just another hurdle to jump. I know that I can do it

    Merry Christmas to all!
  • ktln77ktln77 Member Member
    Hi, Anne.

Thank you for sharing your story. I know the ER doctor and nurses said it is common, but I just felt so alone because I don't know anyone who went through this during their pregnancy. Of course, I feared the worse thinking that my pregnancy would not last because of the hemmorhage. That must have been a very frightening experience for you. I couldn't imagine going through that twice! I am glad to hear everything is progressing, despite the set backs you are having. I had a friend who failed her first gestational diabetes test and passed the 3 hour one. What she did was to cut back on her sugar intake for a few days prior to the test. I don't know if that made the difference or not, but anything is worth a try. I will be praying for you that all goes well.

Robin - Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. They are very much appreciated :) I just can't wait for the day I can share photos of my children on here too.

Merry Christmas to all the ladies on this forum. God bless you all for all the support and caring that you give throughout the year to people you don't even know. It is a great comfort to have this forum and know that other people have gone through and yet have gone on to have happy and healthy children! Here's to a great 2013 filled with happy and healthy bouncing babies!
  • robinrobin Senior Member Senior Member
Anne how bad did you fail the test? Cutting back on sugar wont help you pass if you have gd. You can get through it. It can be difficult, i was very carb intolerant and the most carbs I could have a one sitting was 15 that is a small apple and sometimes 1 slice of bread. I could have a few more carbs if I walked after eating. Most people can have more carbs than I could. The positive..... I got weekly ultrasounds of maks to check his weight and all his organs one a month! I knew what position he was in and I got pics of everything including his hair! I feel your pain. I didnt even have to do the 3 hour test. I got there in the morning after fasting and i failed that one so miserably i didnt have to drink the stuff. Made the appt quick and I had to go for education. That wasnt bad. If you have it you can pm me and I will share tips on where to test and machines to get. One more hurdle butsooo worth it in the end.

Ktln.... I lit a candle for you christmas eve. Sounds like your spirits are a little higher. Keep your head up. A lot of women on here can help to keep you positive or share their story with you and lead a sympathetic ear!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Maks was so cute he actually ripped paper off of most of his gifts after a small hole was started. He is now sleeping soundly...its been a long busy day!

    Best wishes!

Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. I hope that the holidays can be somewhat of a distraction to keep you from stressing about the situation. We ultimately don't have control over the outcome and can only remain faithful that things will work out. Replace fear with faith.
