Today is day 12 for us. I tested the last two days and had negatives. My Dr said we would test day 12 and get a result possibly. Well I am happy to say that this evening we got a BFP. I was going to wait until tomorrow to test again as I was worried with another BFN would do to me but on a whim, grabbed a stick and it said positive! I'll call our RE tomorrow to schedule a beta but the stick says pregnant!!!

Lisa, I have my fingers crossed for you that you get good news tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

    Congratulations POT03005!

Welcome Houston, I am also in Texas. It took me 2-3 days before my first post showed. After that post, all other post showed up right away. I also had a myomectomy though mine was 7 years ago. Fibroids are back. I am looking into fertility treatment now instead of another myomectomy. I was supposed to be able to start treatment, but I need a minor surgery first. Probably won't have the first IUI until October. My date keeps getting pushed back. I started this process in early June and probably won't have my first IUI until October. The waiting is very stressful.

    Grats Kerri!!!!

So sorry Lisa, I'm sending positive thoughts your way!!

Hi Houston and TX-Rain, I'm also in Texas. I was not able to try this cycle, so I am waiting for AF so that I can try again next cycle. Should start Thursday!!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Thanks everyone! Lisa- thank you. I am hoping to hear positive things for you as well.

Yes, I did a Clomid round 50 mg for 5 days, trigger shot and back to back inseminations.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
The nurse said she would call between 2-3 tomorrow. So I'll keep u updated. But Kerri I did live RBA. Either way this goes. I'm glad I went.
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
Congrats Kerri!!!! That is awesome news!!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Thanks Denise! Lisa I am glad you liked them!!
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
Congrats Kerri so happy for you!

Lisa - I will keep sending positive vibes your way. You do have a positive thing going for you in the fact you are covered for IVF next time if this doesn't work. I think fertility coverage should be mandatory, they have so much controversy over covering abortion / birth control, we want to create a life not end it, yet fertility is hardly ever covered.

So......since that B!@ch AF showed up on my doorstep carrying her little red bag today when she wasn't welcome, I will have to start again. I go in Wednesday for a baseline but not sure if I have to wait another cycle or not the nurse said something about maybe waiting a month since I did injectibles. Anyone else have to wait a month in between?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Thanks Jan for the good vibes and making me laugh about the red bag. I needed that. I think Callen is doing injectables and don't think she had to wait. I've not heard of waiting on injectables before so hopefully you will be good to go in a few days.
I've been trying to sleep for an hour now and no luck I think my mind is stuck on that darn beta result tomorrow.
    Kisses

Jle. I am so sorry. My wife and I are in our 4th cycle.
Lisa-thinking of you today. And I forget who asked but yes I am using injectables. So far I didn't have to wait in between cycles.
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Callen this was our fourth try for my wife and I as well! We also have a 4 year old from this same process!
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Callen- thanks for thinking of me I'll let y'all know as soon as I know!

    Congrats Kerri!
Lisa - you've been in my thoughts today; I hope you'll be receiving good news!

I did my trigger injection of Ovidrel last night at 11pm; headache and nausea all day today :(
Oh well, hopefully that means it's working!

Just got my beta results back and it's negative. Ugh.. So I'm skipping a month then going to ivf. This is soo tough. I feel like I've done everything right but it just didn't go. I totally understand it can take a few tries. And I've only done two. Maybe a month off will be good. I guess I need to prepare for the ivf. It sounds like a lot of steps and strength. Especially having to do multiple shots a day. And I'm not great with that. Go figure how I became a nurse.. Lol
I'm okay. This is just part of my journey.
I think I might start journaling.
Love you all for your kind words and prayers.
    Kisses

Sorry Lisa and jle, I guess we are all in the same boat again. But stay positive, like Kerri said the process does work she has a 4 year old and I have a beautiful 19 month old from the process. My son took three tries, then my 2nd pregnancy with the twins was on the 2nd try, unfortunately those angel babies didn't make it. So this next round will be round 7 for me I go tomorrow to see if I can start again. Love to you all!

I wish I would have found this thread last month. I am new to all of this and OMG is this overwhelming or what! I know I shouldn't be complaining, I'm not really, just very overwhelming. An emotional roller coaster. I never imagined the issues that would arise when I imagined this journey. Who knew about CMV, uterine polyps, donor selection issues.... Anyway, I had my 1st IUI earlier this month with ovidrel. I swear I thought I was pregnant. Guess the mind plays tricks on you, or the ovidrel. I got AF before I could go for my preg test. I am trying again this cycle. I am 36 yrs old, married to my wife. Don't believe I have any fertility issues, never tried to conceive & my mother was very fertile. So far 1 failed IUI attempt. We'll see what happens 2nd time around. Positive thoughts to all of us & baby dust!

So sorry Lisa .. Tomorrow I will go see my dr again and hopefully I can do this again in the next two weeks

Kerri congrats!!! I was sitting at a stop light reading when I saw your post and literally squealed for you lol.

I'm so sorry you both have another disappointment Lisa and jle.

I just took my first test. This is the last BFN I'll be happy to see. Trigger is confirmed to be out of my system so when I test on Sunday and Tuesday I will have peace of mind that the answer is the answer. I'm not even sure the trigger worked this time bc I'm 90% certain I ovulated at 9:30 the morning of my insemination instead of the night of the shot and I have only had only 1 symptom that lasted 3 days. It's making me nervous
  • HoustonHouston Member Member
Lisa, Jan, and JLE - I'm so sorry for your disappointments this week. I know each of you have a great forward-moving/onward and upward plan, but just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the suckage of recent events.

My first IUI is tomorrow at 11am. Anyone know when I should start UPTing (or should I at all)? I see that some of you test to make sure that the trigger/Ovidrel is out of your system, then again at days 12 or 14 looking for a true positive. Is that right? Do you recommend it or should I just wait and do blood test at 14 days?

Thanks for any guidance you can give!

My wife and I had our first IUI done yesterday, so the long wait has just begun. It already feels like forever! Any advice would be great!!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
So sorry Lisa and JLE and Jan.

I've been feeling bad the last couple of days. It's weird I had the same thing last month lasted 2 days and was gone, but this month it seems to be lasting longer. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to see if they know what's going on. I really don't want anything to stop me from being able to try this month since I had to skip last month. I'm supposed to start on Thursday.

    Hi ladies,
I'm so sorry to hear about the negatives. Lisa, it is very exciting that you are going to IVF. The success rate is so much higher. Maybe your little one just requires a little more work! Hopefully he/she won't be high maintence his entire life! My insurance would only pay for IVF after 3 failed IUIs so you are lucky you can go right to it!! Good luck and keep us updated!
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Thank you guys! You are so sweet! I know the process works it's just not on my time.
Tx- what are you feeling? Are you sad? Sick? I hope your okay.)
When I went to the specialist yesterday he said he required me to do a fertility counseling session since one I'm using donor and two I'm single. So after my negative results I called and made the appt. She said it's an hour and a half and we talk all about what your gonna do, how your gonna do it, what your gonna tell your kid etc... And then she writes a three page report to my doctor about the session! So of course I'm now nervous I'll fail the counseling!! Lol omg!! Denise you are right. This child isn't even here and it's another unexpected turn!! Lol
Lord I hope she doesn't fail me!! Haha!
Then I did just a tad of research on ivf and y'all it's looking like multiple shots a day! Fuk!
Moonlit. It's hard not to test before the blood test. I swore to God that I wasn't going to do it this past time and barely made it to 7dpo.. Lol just do the best you can.
Try what Denise did. Have a testing party!
I can't wait to hear Jle and Jan how your doctor visit goes tomorrow.
    Kisses
    Lisa

Lisa, they required Nikki and I do that a counseling session as well. We were not required our first child (used a different clinic) but we were required this try. No worries, no stress, it was pretty simple you just get to talk about you and the process etc.

To all of the girls who are still trying... We were 29 when we got pregnant with our first child. My partner carried her, it was a medicated round with piggy back inseminations and we were fortunate enough that it worked the first try (which that clinic and our current clinic told us was abnormal but that we were lucky). Fast forward almost 5 and it took me using the same donor four tries. Three unmedicated single inseminations, and one medicated piggy back. Our current clinic is one of the largest RE facilities in Atlanta if not the largest. Our RE told us that 4-6 tries is normal and that (if I remember correctly) 75% or so of women who go though 6 tries will be successful. I constantly compared myself to Nikki because she got it her first try... why wasn't I so lucky...what's wrong with me... will I get pregnant. I have been rough on myself... keep your chins up ladies. It is going to happen!!!

I go for my beta tomorrow am. They wanted me to come in today but I worked from home today and the office is an hour from our home but 10 min from where my office is. I'll stop by in the am and by lunch I hope to hear some numbers. Find out MAYBE if it is one or more... not sure but I'll check in when I get into the office.

For those of you who are hanging around that have already succeeded in getting a BFP and those who are still waiting. My thoughts and prayers are with you... I think about you all daily. This place is a source of strength as we go though procedures, heartache, disappointments, nerves, and excitement. It is nice to logon here and realize that you are not alone during this journey. I look forward to sharing many more of these types of moments with you all. My little IUI family...

    XO

Hey Lisa, yes I have flu-like symptoms. Chills, achy body, flush skin. I get hot then cold. I sweat then shake because I'm freezing to death. It's over a hundred degrees here and I have 3 blankets on my bed. And this morning I was wearing a hoody around the house. I've been taking Tylenol every 4 hours to help with keeping the symptoms under control. I have a cough. Last month when I had this I also had stomach cramps and was not hungry at all, I only ate because I knew I needed to. But I haven't had any stomach cramps this time. It's really weird, I haven't ran a fever that I know of.
