I'm either sick or in side effect hell. It's so weird how the body reacts differently to these drugs every time I take them. First cycle the letrozole made me feel like is been hit by a bus and the ovidrel gave me pregnancy symptoms that were almost unbearable. Last cycle I felt nothing but a couple sweaty nights after the trigger even with the addition of the Gonal f. This cycle the letrozole made me feel kinda yucky but since I started the Gonal f injections, I am so sick to my stomach. Maybe that means body is ready to make a baby? It's seriously putting a damper on my ability to do my schoolwork. I keep telling myself only 1 week to go then I'll be back in the tww. Never thought I'd be looking forward to that! But there won't be any injections or blood draws, just some yucky progesterone suppositories.
Looking so forward to the day we all have ultrasound pictures with little beans in them!

Moonlit- I'm sorry you feel so bad. I can't imagine. Are the injections easy after awhile? And I hope the meds don't make me cra cra when I start.
    Kisses

The injections are easy after the first one. They don't normally even hurt but last night I hit a tender spot and yelped lol. That one bled too which doesn't normally happen. I've found to do them in the stomach it's best for me to stay away from the area under by belly button and put them to the side.

Congrats on your little bean picture!

Moonlit - I felt like crap on Gonal F. I had random waves of nausea, lower energy, and progressively worsening abdominal bloating. I went to my regularly scheduled trainer visit 2 days before my IUI and, while working on abs, felt like my ovaries were going to explode. I think I slept at least 12 hrs/night in the days before and immediately after my Ovidrel triggering shot. Around one week after the IUI, I finally started feeling more like my regular self. In summary, I thought the process sucked! Especially when it all ended up just being a freaking pre-party for AF's arrival.

I'm lucky with the injections as my skin below my belly button is still pretty numb following my abdominal myomectomy surgery; thus, I don't feel much of anything from the shots.

Denise - I am so excited about your little bean! I understand your anxiety; I have spent an unhealthy amount of time reading those horror stories on fertility/baby-having websites to the point that I am also soooo nervous about the first trimester. Hang in there; you're almost out of the woods! I'm keeping you in my thoughts/prayers. So you're at 8 weeks and Kerri's at 6 weeks, is that right?

Which reminds me, are you guys going to get the Harmony Prenatal Test? It's a simple blood test (drawn from your arm, not the placenta) that can be done as early as 10 weeks gestation to rule out a variety of genetic disorders (trisomy 21, 13, 18 and sex chromosome/XY disorders). Since some of us older ladies are at increased risk for offspring w/these disorders (esp Down's Syndrome), I'm thinking it's a good idea. It also tells you the gender of the baby!

OK, I was on-call and up all last night so it's time for me to hit the hay. I'm sending you all lots of positive energy. Hopefully, by the time I get back from my mom's, all y'all will be pregnant!! And I'll be trying to catch up :)

    Happy Thursday!

Yes, Kerri and I are 2 weeks apart. I hadn't heard of that Prenatal test but I am definitely going to look into it!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Yes, Denise and I are two weeks apart. I will have to look into the prenatal test too.

Where is everyone at in the process right now? We should have a few testing this week, right?

Houston I hate that you felt like this too, but glad to know I'm probably not sick. I have my day 10 monitoring tomorrow morning. They busted up my veins pretty good last time so I'm not sure where they're going to draw from. Four more days....I feel like I'm pushing through the longest workout ever.
In other news, I got a nice card this week from my bosses congratulating me on 5 years with the firm. It's definitely time to find a new job!

Hopefully in a few days I will be joining the tww. I start testing with the OPK again tomorrow.

    Fingers crossed TX!!

I am not in a position to post pictures right now but the appointment went very well.

I am six weeks today so I am a day less than they thought. The heartbeat was strong enough that we were able to hear it on the system which took my breath away and I had to fight back not crying a little. (I know y'all don't know me well but I am NOT A CRIER kind of person ever for ANY REASON).

    Next appointment in three weeks.

Ok, I finally got my positive OPK. So I go in tomorrow at 10 for my IUI. Anyone else starting or just started the tww?
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
    Good luck tomorrow!!!

Good Luck Tx. I am on day 5 of my TWW.

& I am very moody :( can 2 injections of ovidrel really make me such a bitch?!
  • HoustonHouston Member Member
Frankly, I think this whole process/experience is fertile ground for breeding bitchy-ness (at least that's what I'm blaming it on).

    Updated:

    Robo - IUI 8/18 —> 9/1
    Callen - IUI 8/23-24 —> 9/6-7
    ck2014 - IUI 8/30-31 —> 9/13-14
    txgrl74 - IUI 9/6 --> 9/20
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
So my IUI is tomorrow and I should test on the 20th, however my dear ole af is due on the 14th. I don't understand this. I'm ovulating late does that mean I will start late?
  • callencallen Member Member
Hello Everyone!!! Has anyone bought any baby stuff before getting a positive? Is it bad luck???
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Tx- good luck!! Keep us posted! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. I think our bodies are fascinating and unpredictable at times. So don't worry. Go with what the doc feels best and your positive opk. Then ride out the TWW with no worries if you can. I have much difficulty doing the last part.. Lol
Kerri- I read your post earlier and was fanning of the tears on my face. It is emotional! I'm so happy for you and Nicole! Can't wait to see the photo.
Ck- the are brutal! I'm hoping though it's all good news soon. Not ever being pregnant means I really don't know what it's gonna feel like. Though I do know the hcg and it made me tired, nauseated and bloated as hell!!
    When are you gonna test?
Callen- I haven't bought one thing. Mainly because I'm afraid if I do it will make me more emotionally connected and invested than I already am. Though once I do get pregnant and it's been a couple weeks or I hear the heartbeat then I plan on getting stuff and making the room babyfied with the help of my mom. She is a lot more creative with design than I am.
    Kisses to you All!!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
Nope, I haven't bought anything either. I just don't want to jinx anything.
  • ck2014ck2014 Member Member
I test on 9/14. I can't do HPT because the 2nd ovidrel was prescribed 10 days from testing so no time for it to exit my system.
  • callencallen Member Member
I test Monday.. So far all BFN with home test. :(
    Thinking of everyone.
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
Well I'm officially in my tww. The sperm count was less than 10 million so I guess I will be getting a refund. Also I will be going back to my first choice as he now has reported pregnancies and his sperm count was really high.
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
I will keep my fingers crossed for you Tina. I got pregnant with a lot less than 10 million, it only takes one! :-)
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Tina- very excited for you! It only takes one good swimmer! I'm so glad you got to do ur iui this month!
    Good luck and baby dust!
    Kisses
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Tina, I agree that it only takes one. You won't need to go back to your previous donor. Positive thoughts.

CK- you could always try a HPT at home around day 6.7.8 or so. If you get a negative then it should mean that the trigger is out of your system. I ovulated late as well. Just a thought....

With our first child we bought something when we found out we were pregnant. Just one thing. We waited until after the 12 week mark to do anything else. This one, we have not done that yet.

    How is everyone doing/feeling?
  • ck2014ck2014 Member Member
Really? I didn't realize that. I thought the trigger needed 10 days to be out of your system. I actually took a dollar store test yesterday just to see and the line for positive was so light almost not even there which had me wondering did this trigger work? (Took my last trigger Wednesday 3pm). I think it worked, based off my symptoms/side effects of it.

Positice thinking. Babies for all of us!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
I had worried about the trigger, our RE had told me though that it works in 99.99% of people and that it would be a miracle if it did NOT work. Just food for thought...

I tested the two times I used it. Once it was out of my system day 6 and the other day 8.
