I just spent some time catching up with everyone. I took a little break and then the App wouldnt work and had no idea there was just a website...duh on my part. Lisa, Tx, Pot- hi.hi. Everyone new hello. Things didn't go well - I ended up being ectopic. I had a pretty crappy experience with the RE and Office, didn't get a straight answer for 4-5 days. Still unsure of what the heck happened. I had to take methotrexate, so I am outta of the game for trying again until around end of Oct/early NOv, and then that of course doesn't account for I have to wait for AF to come back and she hasn't yet. Also, praying my tube is clear.
I promise I was sending everyone well wishes and baby dust the last month! So happy to hear so much happy news.
If anyone else has suffered an ectopic, I'd love to connect. XOX to the group.
So I went on my date and surprisingly he was as sweet as he seemed over the phone. When talked for hours had lunch then dinner then.......................................sex. So because I haven't been doing an iui or anything I have not kept up with my ovulation. Though I think yesterday would have put me at day 15-16. Which is around when I normally ovulate.
So of course when we got up this morning. I had a lot on my head. One I don't know his HIV status other than what he told me and two should I take plan B.
So I asked him to do an oraquick. Which is a quick HIV test you can do at home and get the results in 20 mins or I would consider taking truvada which is a post exposure drug. My main concern was if I go thru ivf and come up HIV positive I could unknowingly hurt the baby. So he was more than willing to the test and understood my concerns. That came back negative which is super good! Now I just need to decide on wether to take plan B (morning after pill) I didn't want to bring his child into this world if he didn't want that. I asked him what he wanted me to do and he said don't take the pill. I will take care of my responsibilities and if the baby ends up looking beautiful like you id be very happy. He really is so sweet.
So that's the mess I created in less than 24 hours.. Lol
I do want to keep dating him. But I sure as fuk need to slow it down. Excuse my language.
Lastly the pharmacy called yesterday they had to switch companies due to my insurance. So I called the new pharmacy today and am supposed to hear back tomorrow or Friday on what my copay is. And the scheduled arrival date is Monday.
I have no more words.lol
Kisses
Won't you have to wait up see if you are pregnant before starting the medications? When is the first dose of medication supposed to be taken?
Lisa-you are so darn sweet and so darn funny. I wish you only the best. If you end up doing IVF...keep in touch. There will be only a week between us.
Please don't judge me!
Callen- I'm excited for your IVF. We need to start a sock swap. They say after the transfers with IUI and IVF you should wear socks to keep your womb warm and cozy. I think it's a lucky thing too. I joined a closed group on Facebook called IVF Support . There's lots of good info and support on there.

How can you help implantation and get pregnant with tube socks, chai tea and carved stones?
December 14, 2013
Whether you're doing an IVF, FET cycle or trying to get pregnant naturally, implantation is the most crucial step in the process. Instead of standing by idly waiting for a fertilized embryo to implant, you probably want to know, "How can I help implantation?"
Here are 6 ways you can help implantation to get pregnant naturally or have a successful embryo transfer:
1.) Increase your uterine lining
To best support the entire process of conception, it's important to build a healthy uterine lining first. With a thicker uterine lining and excellent blood flow, an embryo is more likely to attach. This takes preparation. Eating healthy nourishing foods, getting enough rest, acupuncture and at-home acupressure point stimulation to increase your lining during the first half of your cycle can effectively help to build your healthy lining.
2.) Eat nourishing soups and stews
When it comes time for your little embryo/future child to implant, there are things you can do to facilitate the process. Again, the importance of rest and nourishing foods cannot go underestimated. Soups and stews, like the one I share in this post, are warming and nourishing, two qualities that a little embryo loves. If you were a little embryo, wouldn't you want to nestle into a warm nook full of goodness?
3.) Drink Tea
Teas are also an excellent way to warm you up. I recommend ginger tea, peppermint tea, and teas that aid digestion. Organic decaffeinated chai tea sweetened with stevia is a delicious choice.
Internal warmth is important for proper blood circulation and to stimulate the release of progesterone, the hormone that supports implantation and the continuous thickening of your lining after implantation occurs.
4.) Keep your feet warm
So keep yourself warm, especially your little footsies! Wear cozy fuzzy socks and avoid flip flops. Don't walk around your house in bare feet. Acupuncture meridians that circulate to the reproductive organs begin in the feet. In fact, women are 30% more likely to orgasm when wearing socks. (I recommend cute knee high striped tube socks for the " sexy school girl" look rather than ankle high black socks reminiscent of the "old man" look.)
5.) Practice the right kind of exercise
Avoid high impact exercise like running and straining activities like weight lifting. The impact causes a down-bearing force on the uterus, which can affect it's alignment and make the uterine walls weaker. In Chinese medicine, it's important to create a lifting energy in the uterus to retain the embryo. Brisk walks and yoga are a great substitute.
6.) Use acupressure point stimulation at home
Acupuncture point stimulation has been proven in studies to increase implantation by at least 20%, as well as increase live birth rates. (Check those studies out here and here.)
What you may not realize is that you can stimulate these same acupuncture points at home to help implantation. Getting a professional acupuncture treatment is highly recommended, but you can also increase the effectiveness of your acupuncture treatments with at-home acupuncture point stimulation.
If you're unable to get acupuncture you can do the same acupressure protocols on yourself at home that were proven in this study to help implantation.
There's so much more to Chinese medicine than acupuncture. Many Chinese medicine principles can be applied at home in your daily life to balance your health and increase fertility. I am passionate about teaching these tools to you. This is my mission and I'm required to report back to the mothership with my updated progress.
When the Chinese first discovered the acupuncture meridians and used point stimulation as a medicine, they didn't have stainless steel needles. They carved rocks into arrowhead shapes and stimulated the points with them.
The acupoints can be activated with your fingers, stones, needles, magnets, lasers and with focused intention. You can send messages to your body by stimulating specific acupoints.
Here's to taking your fertility into your own hands,
Ovidrel delayed your period?
OH and I'm drinking tea right now, before I go to bed.
Lisa-thanks!!! Doing Accupuncture when I can and am def going to wear some socks.
Have a great day everyone!!!
I didn't even realize how truly helpful acupuncture could be also. So I'm gonna find one for the next upcoming weeks.
Also I do believe the trigger shot delayed my period twice. The only other med that could have done it was clomid and I didn't have the delay the month I was just taking that. I do think all of our bodies respond different to meds.
Hope you guys are having a great week!
Kisses
Did you ever get your hair color before the iui?
Kisses
Ck ovidrel didn't delay my period but it essentially gives me pms. My boobs hurt and I have cramps like the week before my period only they started 2 weeks before. Then it was the week before my period so I still had the symptoms and then I was pregnant so there was no relief from them!
Lisa, oh wowowow! Such an exciting time! And sounds like soo much more fun than I'm having!!
Jan, I'm so glad I could give you a giggle. I know it's not that bad but so not my favorite. Plus it's nice that the doc handles the stuff and the only mess I have to clean up after is a little KY jelly. Lol
On another note, I went for acupuncture on Tuesday. It was great! I do wish I would have started 3 months ago because I too heard how much it helps fertility, but I'm there now and will continue going. She just did a general session. Didn't touch my belly because she needs to know if I am pregnant, either way it will change the plan of care.
Have a great day ladies! ❤️
I too got the dreaded AF on Tuesday. That was a very difficult day for me. I could barely make it into work the next day and my poor students knew I wasn't having a good day. I've decided to do one more around of IUI (this is #3). If this one doesn't stick, then I am going to take a break. It's just too emotional for me and plus I want to drink some wine during the holidays I hear your procedures and they all vary so greatly, which I guess makes sense since we all come to the table (literally and figuratively!) as different women with different issues. That said, I'd never heard that unfrozen sperm only live 6 hours! REALLY?! Usually they live for days and it's the egg that has the limited life span of 24 hours.
Starting the drugs (Femera) today and this time will take them for seven days instead of 5...with a trigger the day before the IUI. My Dr. says everything looks good except for the end result. One never knows...
Wishing all of those in their TWW the best of luck. You're awesome and deserving ladies indeed!!
Good Luck with your IUI this month. 3rd time's a charm
Jenna- I'm glad your going for round 3. Is fermera a injection that stimulates the ovaries for more eggs? And taking it more days mean more eggs? If so that's great! Don't forget to buy some warm fuzzy socks!
Tx- I hope you have your socks in tonight!! And drinking your tea like you do.
Well today was a long work day. I felt like every patient was trying to crump on me. I did finally get the phone call from freedom pharmacy about the ivf meds. No copay $3,500/month no Bueno!! With the insurance $130/month. I was totally relieved. I had no idea what my portion was going to be and was nervous it was gonna be a grand or something.
They did change the bravelle to follistim or something. So I did get yet another protocol. Though I have been super impressed with me RE office, they are very on top of stuff and keep my updated all the time especially the nurses.
The meds come tomorrow and the follistim has to be refrigerated and I'm working so I asked my mom if she would come over and put it in the refrig for me. Of course she agreed but it still bothers me she is not shown any excitement about me getting pregnant. Of all the people in the world she is the only one I would really love to share my excitement and experience with. I've stopped pushing it with her. Because telling her it was hurting me didn't change anything. Idk maybe she will come around?
Any who I'm gonna hit the sak!
Kisses
Lisa
I was told it lived outside up to 36 hours and that live sperm is longer. My RE said I got pregnant the day after my IUI based on the ultrasound etc.
That bitch Flo showed up over here. She can steal my cycle, but I'm not giving her my soul. Still gonna have a great day!
Happy Saturday, ladies!
I talked to the RN at RE and she said once flow comes then I come in for us and blood work then start meds. I told her I'm nervous this is not my period but implantation bleeding because I'm 7-8 days early. And I had shaky shaky boom boom Tuesday. But she said coming off clomid can make it act funny and come early. I bought a HPT test anyway. But not gonna take it. Mabe this bleeding will start coming more than spotting.
Kisses
During my SHG test RE found a 9mm polyp in my uterus, suggested I have it removed before we begin. I researched it and decided to try without removing it.
1st cycle- 1 IUI with only ovidrel
2nd cycle- 2 IUI's back to back with only ovidrel again
Now I need to decide next course of action. I still don't think I want to have the polyp removed. I never had surgery and I have the mindset of letting your body heal itself. I have no symptoms of this polyp. My periods are perfect, 3 days at most, minimal pain.
I have heard of times where you remove 1 & 4 grow back.
I have heard someone removed it and get pregnant next try.
I have heard someone removed it and still can't pregnant.
A friend's sister had a uterus full of polyps, fibroids, did nothing, got pregnant.
My wife's mother was told she'll never have kids. She had 6, all separate pregnancies.
As you see there are so many sides of the spectrum here. Does anyone have opinions and advice regarding this? Personally stories even?
Trying to decide do I get it removed or try a 3rd time with Chlomid?
Thanks Ladies!
