Kerri!!! Soo exciting!! My pos phone can't see the photos though!!! I'm so happy for you!! I was at RBA sunday and today but I went to the cumming office today. Nside on last Sunday.
Denise- I saw you were going in for your 11 week. How did it go?
    Jan beautiful picsnn
Baby- welcome to the group and excited for your TWW!
I went in today for 2nd ultrasound and blood work. Of the 23 follies 15 have matured to 1.0-1.8!! I was thrilled she said I'm responding well. My estridol level was kinda high at 1,100 which she said she expected with the about of follies. So they are gonna probably decrease my follistim in the next couple days. I also started the ganirelix today to stop me from ovulating too. The injections are even becoming easy!! I can't believe I've even saying that!!
My next blood work and ultrasound is Saturday!!! So I can't wait!! So far it looks like I'm responding excellent to the meds and I just hope my eggs are good!!

So I ended up having to give myself the shot tonight. OMG it was so hard and I didn't think I was going to be able to do it, but I did. It didn't hurt, but bled a little. Now I can't get the stupid needle off. My dad told me that he would get it off tomorrow. He does Byetta and uses the injectable pens. I'm afraid I'm going to break it. And he thinks I may have screwed it on to tight.

Lisa, glad you are responding well to the meds. That's great.

Welcome B4Baby, sending you baby dust.

Tx-- Whoohoo I'm soo proud of you!!! I'm up to two shots a day and it's not too bad. Luckily I'm feeling great!!

    Hi everyone!
My 11 week appointment went awesome! Since I am over 35, my doctor suggested genetic testing. I did the MaterniT21 which will detect a number of genetic disorders as well as the gender. I will have the results by next Wednesday. This is going to be a long week waiting for those results but that's what we do right? We wait! And wait and wait...
This was the first time seeing this doctor and I LOVE her! I'm excited to work with her for the next 6 months. My next appointment is at Week 16. My due date was moved again. At first it was 4-11, then it went to 4-15 and this time the doctor moved it to 4-13. I'm not sure how they can be that exact this early in the game but what do I know!

Denise!! That's wonderful news!!!! I have been thinking about u all week!!! Congrats!!!

Good news!!! Had ultrasound and blood work this morning.
23 eggs are 1.4 cm and above. They will grow 2mm a day. So that means all 23 are mature and there are some others not mature beyond the 23! Geez.. So the nurse said she thinks they are going to trigger me to ovulate tomorrow and retrieve the eggs Tuesday or trigger me Monday and retrieve the eggs Wednesday. She said I'm growing them very fast to be only day 8 and they are trying to hold me for atleast a day or two. She said if I was day 10 they would trigger today but since I'm not they are gonna try and push me a day or two more. I'll know more when she calls me this afternoon with blood work results. I'm hoping my blood estridol level didn't sky rocket too much from 1,100 since last test two days ago.
So everything is still going exceptionally well. Even my mom is getting excited!
  • MoonlitwishMoonlitwish Member Member
Yay Denise so glad everything is going well!
Lisa how does that work? They make you ovulate and then go suck them out of your Fallopian tubes? Do you have any pain in your ovaries from all that activity?
Some people who know I've been doing the treatments have asked why we aren't trying again this month. Nobody understands how much this process costs. Then they're like use a surrogate or adopt. Seriously that's even more expensive people! DSS hasn't called, but I'm not surprised. So I threw myself into biking and got dropped from a no-drop ride this morning. They told me to go home and I didn't. Just kept on pedaling. Sometimes I love being contrary. Maybe all this exercise will grow me some good eggs and I can save some gas money by using the bike to get to work then use the money to buy some more sperm...

    I'm soo excited.
Moon- once I trigger, I'll go in 36 hours later and go under conscious sedation and they remove all the eggs. Take it to the lab and put it in the dish and inject the sperm in to them. Then I wait 3-5 days to see how many fertilized. On day 5 they will put the best 2 embryos back in a freeze whatever is left. I know crazy!

Tomorrow morning is my dr apt. I can't wait. I just hope I haven't ovulated early this month. And the shots do get easier. But I feel more comfortable with no one watching. Although I made my mom watch me tonight. She hates shots worse than me, but I told her she will be able to tell her grandchild that she watched the pain I had to endure!! Lol she laughed at me and then stood there and watched.
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
So my apt went great. I have a 24mm follicle on the right side, and absolutely nothing going on on the left side. I trigger tonight and I get my first IUI tomorrow morning and the 2nd one on Wednesday afternoon. I'm so excited. I will soon be in the tww.

Lisa, how did your apt go today?
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
Awesome news, wishing you the best of luck!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Sounds like everything is going good. Excited for you Tx.

    Lisa, how was your appointment?

We went to our regular OB today, first time with this pregnancy so we are officially started with them. We got to see the baby again. I'll try and post a pic as you could see dangling little arms and legs!! April 30th due date.
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
So ladies I have a question. I am triggering tonight and my first IUI in the morning about 15 1/2 hours after trigger and then my second IUI is Wednesday about 44 to 45 hours after trigger. I'm worried the second IUI is to late. Any thoughts?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
    Hey guys,
Appt this morning was good. They did the ultrasound and have 25 eggs. Most are 1.8 and above some over 2.0. My estridol level did spike alittle today from 3,200 yesterday to 4,800 today.
I'm triggering tonight! They want me to do 5,000 units instead of 10,000 units due to being at higher risk now for OHSS. I go in Wednesday morning for sedation then egg retrieval. I'll know that day how many they retrieve and thank goodness I'll be under propofol sleep! Then I'll get a call Thursday telling me how many fertilized. My mom went with me this morning and it was great. Brian is going to go with me for the retrieval on Wednesday.
Honestly, I've felt beyond great through out this IVF thing until today. I'm just irritable and nauseated. Idk if it's the high estridol level or nerves. I gotta run take this trigger!
I'll check back in a few.
    Kisses

    LOOKING FOR ADVICE PLEASE:

During my SHG test RE found a 9mm polyp in my uterus, suggested I have it removed before we begin. I researched it and decided to try without removing it.

1st cycle- 1 IUI with only ovidrel
2nd cycle- 2 IUI's back to back with only ovidrel again

Now I need to decide next course of action. I still don't think I want to have the polyp removed. I never had surgery and I have the mindset of letting your body heal itself. I have no symptoms of this polyp. My periods are perfect, 3 days at most, minimal pain.

I have heard of times where you remove 1 & 4 grow back.
I have heard someone removed it and get pregnant next try.
I have heard someone removed it and still can't pregnant.
A friend's sister had a uterus full of polyps, fibroids, did nothing, got pregnant.
My wife's mother was told she'll never have kids. She had 6, all separate pregnancies.

As you see there are so many sides of the spectrum here. Does anyone have opinions and advice regarding this? Personally stories even?

Trying to decide do I get it removed or try a 3rd time with Chlomid?

    Thanks Ladies!

    ck,

Just to add another story to your post. I decided to have my polyp removed at my RE's strong recommendation. I was placed on a birth control pill for the procedure, to thin the lining of the uterus. I develop a DVT (blood clot) in less than 2 weeks after starting the birth control pill. I have to have DVT treated for 3 months. And had to put off my 1st IUI until either December or January. I can't be on Coumadin while pregnant. I have been so disappointed at the wait that I haven't come to the site for a while.

As for advice, I probably wouldn't have done this if I had only known. I will be seeing if RE is willing to do procedure without removing polyp. Rain

    Oh Rain,
I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. That breaks my heart.
I understand you feeling like you needed to take some time for you but know, we always are here for you. And I'm so glad you shared this.
Tx- well we are going to be TWW buddies! Get your socks ready!! Lol
I've just felt so much weight on my shoulders the last 48 hours. Tonight I FaceTime Brian during the trigger and it went fine. Not even a bit of pain. I'm smh because who would of thought I would think these shots are now soo easy. I will admit I got off the phone with him and fell into tears. It just felt like the weight was lifted, I could take a deep breath again and all that nauseated feeling disappeared. I've done this trying to get pregnant thing alone since April. I hadn't realized it's hard to do this alone. And I feel so lucky to have someone share it with me. It's just taken some of the weight off me. And it's just having someone share the experience with. The cheering me on. Taking the time out of their schedule to watch me give myself a darn shot. Idk if this makes sense. I just feel much better after doing the trigger and allowing myself to finally cry.
    Kisses

Hi everyone, so I had my first IUI this morning and go in tomorrow for my second one in the afternoon. Plus I found out this morning that since I have Stage 3 endometriosis I should have been eligible for insurance coverage from the very beginning. So now my dr. is fighting with the insurance company trying to get me refunded all the money I've paid in. I told them today of all days isn't the day I should be dealing with this. I was so stressed out this morning during the IUI. But now I'm calm relaxed and I'm wearing my socks...

    How are you doing Lisa?
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
    Good luck Texas!!!!
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
    Hi Lisa!
    How are things going?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
It went great! They took out 17 eggs! I didn't feel a thing. It took 11 mins. They put me to sleep and when I woke up I asked "when are you going to start?"
I'll find out tomorrow how many of the eggs were mature and how many fertilized! The nurse said she would call me around 8-9am. I'm very nervous.
Tx- congrats on your iui's!! I've got my socks on too!
    I'll keep you updated.
    Kisses

Sounds like everyone's moving right along! So excited for you all. Anybody besides tx in the tww?
I've been temping and started peeing on the opks today prepping for an all natural cycle with our Sperm being donated by a friend. The possible legal ramifications are freaking me out but it's a last stab effort to see if we can have a baby. DSS referred us to an adoption agency who is willing to take our application so that's exciting. We haven't told anyone that we are inseminating again and have told very few about trying adoption. I'm tired of people asking me how I feel and since I'm not inclined to lie, I sound like a Debbie downer all the time from the shots and pills making me feel like crap. I have felt better since this period was over.
    Onward and upward, ladies!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
So I had my second IUI today. I start the progesterone on Saturday. Any advice for those? The sperm counts weren't very high, 1 was 10.1 and the other was 9.7. But I'm hopeful this will be the one. I'm still wearing my socks....and I'm going to drink some tea tonight.

Hope everyone is doing well. I do the bloodtest on 10/15.

Any one else in the tww?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Tx..) that's excellent!! Though bummed about the sperm count. I hope they refund your money and figure out how to check the count before selling them. I guess I'll find out my count tomorrow.
I've decided to not take off my socks until I get my results in the morning. I hope my babies are fertilizing and growing as we speak. If all is good I will officially be in TWW with you.) I have a good feeling for you this iui. And will be praying for you.
    Kisses

I barely slept a wink. I got soo worried my eggs were going to be rotten.
    I just got the call.
Out of the 17 eggs they retrieved yesterday16 were mature and 12 are baby embryo's!
I'm so thankful. I'm balling my eyes out now. It's soo emotional to feel so lucky and know God has never dropped me.

    Hello Everyone!!!!!
Lisa- I have been thinking of you. So excited for you :)
Did they have you drink gaterade after egg retrievel? Waiting today for phone call to see when I start meds.
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
So happy for you Lisa! Did anyone see the story of the sperm mix up? Sara Gilbert just commented on the Talk about it and she was thinking exactly what I was thinking.
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
    Congrats Lisa!!
Janbaby, I heard about it but didn't hear what was said on The Talk. Can you sum it up, I am very interested!
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Callen!! So exciting. I have been drinking tons of water and high protein through ivf. Do far my experience has been great. I am slight sore from egg retrieval yesterday so I decided to rest on the couch and not push myself. I tried going into work but was too uncomfortable running around doing trauma.
Otherwise it's been great!! I think it Tx and I in TWW. I'm hoping to transfer two in on Monday!!
What is your med protocol? Are u excited?
