Wow that's great that you had so many. My Dr. didn't really see any on cycle day 1. I'm hoping this hybrid medicated cycle produces more follicles for me also. I start the Femara tonight.

    Good Luck Lisa!!

I FaceTimed Brian to do my first shot. I was kinda nervous. But it didn't hurt at all. I did tear up and get a little woozy afterward. But laid down and quickly it went away.
It was so special. I never expected I'd get to share doing this process with anyone.
Tx- let me know how yours goes.
    Kisses

OH I will give the blow by blow. I don't start the injections until Thursday. Tonight I start the pills. I already asked my co-worker if she would give me the shot Thursday night, and lined my sister up for the weekend. I go in Monday the 29th for them to take a look and see what's going on. Hopefully I'm responding well to the meds. I think the nervousness is less when there is someone there with you. I wasn't as nervous with the ovidrel when my sister and co-worker was there with me. We had a nice laugh in the parking lot at the pharmacy.....lol I was like we are going to get turned in as crack hoes if someone sees you shooting me up in the parking lot.....LOL we had a great laugh, and she tells me all the time she is gonna get me pregnant....haha I told her I bet you never thought you would see this much of me when you started here did you.....haha we just laugh. any way good luck with your injections.....It's gotta get easier the more you do right.

My Follistim was at room temp when the nurse gave it to me, I read online it's ok to be at room temp for a month. I went ahead and put it in the fridge after that. I am sure the gonal is the same. I just did my 2nd night of follistim tonight. It does get much easier, I feel like a freaking pro now and I was probably one of the biggest scaredy cats ever.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
OMG idk if I'll ever feel like a pro. I hope so! Jan do u do it with the injector? And when are you going do trigger? I don't feel any different!! I hope it stays this way!
Tx- you make me laugh so hard!
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
I used regular needle injections with Bravelle, with the Follistim I use the cartridge pen. I go Wednesday to see how many follicles I have and where they are at as far as maturity to see when I trigger.
  • MoonlitwishMoonlitwish Member Member
My pharmacy said to refridgerate the Gonal.
We'll all be old pros at injections once this journey is over.
I took at test at lunch today and it's not looking good. I had to pee so much since yesterday I was convinced it worked, but today's test is negative. So depressed. Tomorrow is the real deal and I don't know how much might change. As of right now we don't have the money to try again but we are talking austerity measures to come up with funds to give it another go. I don't know if the wife will give up the tv bill and the steak dinners to have a baby since she won't even share her uterus. We'll see. She has until Wednesday to decide. Maybe longer depending on how long AF holds off.

I slept like crap. Woke up every hour on the hour. Is this just my nerves? Or follistim? Probably just nerves
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
    I'm better now!!
Moonlit good luck and much baby dust babe!!!
    Kisses
  • MoonlitwishMoonlitwish Member Member
    It's negative. :(.
It's probably the follistim Lisa. That stuff made me feel awful.
I called out of work today. We are reviewing our options but so far they don't look good :(
How's everyone else doing? Anybody else going into the tww?
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
    So sorry Moonlit😞

Moon can u sign up for insurance that covers fertility? Some of the ladies on the FB ivf board were talking about them.
I'm trying to eat a lot of carbs and drink tons of water so I don't get any side effects or atleast decrease them. Though I've been peeing every 30 mins.
I go in Thursday for more blood and ultrasound then go in everyday after that till they do the egg retrieval I guess. I start the ganirelix Thursday too.. Smh more damn shots! But so far it really isn't bad.
The nurse said today everything is in my favor with amh, and 23 follies this round. So I'm hoping I'm a one time ivf girl.
Well I'm gonna go back to work now.
    Hope everyone is well!
    Kisses
    Lisa

We are looking into whether I can be added to my (non-legal) wife's insurance and if they cover infertility, but it's a long shot. Is there coverage you can add? My boss pays my insurance premium 100% so I can't just switch. I don't understand everything about how secondary coverage works, but that is something I should look into. Thanks Lisa!
In other news, we are looking into adoption. We tried that route first but there aren't many babies and wifey wants a baby but since that's not happening for us, we inquired about a cute kid and his older sister who shares my love for mac and cheese and nail polish. We'll see if the state will even work with us.
Do carbs work to curb the side effects? Maybe that's what I was doing wrong...

Hello!!! For some reason I haven't been able to get on this forum.
Lisa-how u doing? I just had my mock trial and go for
    Ultrasound and bloodwork next week.
Ekkkk hope you are all doing well.

OMG.. I have so much to tell you guys.

First I found out my prescription insurance will cover the fertility meds. Whew that is a load off. I was beginning to think that this was going to be my last try. :)

Second, found out that Fairfax is refunding me for the vial last month since it was below standard.

Third, my computer has been acting weird since Saturday, so I called Dell tonight to have them look at it. The tech had control of my screen and I was looking at the files I had saved on my desktop and right there for everyone to see I had a file called "sperm order"......I was mortified. I'm like here this guy is trying to fix my computer and I have this file there on the desktop......LOL

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Talk to everyone later.

Hope you start to feel better Lisa.

Hey Callen I've been def thinking about you. I just started the ivf meds Sunday. So far so good. I'm super excited!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
Lisa when do you go back to RBA!? I am here now for 9 week check up before they release us and I swear you could be sitting across from me!?
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
Another canceled cycle for me :-( feeling pretty bummed. Apparently my right ovary is an over-achiever, I have 5 possible follicles this time. At least the wasted meds were given to me this time by the clinic, I don't have to feel bad about throwing away $300. My NP is going to see if she can get me more if they get anymore samples. They are really concerned with my health issues in my pregnancy with my son where they don't feel comfortable having that many mature follicles. So we are going to dial down meds again and maybe start them later and monitor them more often. So here we go again another dang 3 weeks waiting for AF. Kerri can't wait to see sono pics! I think Lisa said she has an appt Thursday, but that would be funny if it were her sitting across from you.

I'm at my OB office now waiting for my 11 week ultrasound!
  • POT03005POT03005 Senior Member Senior Member
We are officially released to our OBGYN whom we actually get to see on Monday and will get to see another ultrasound of our bean. Dr. said it was a healthy and lively looking fetus. YAY! That's all you can ask for.

Funny story though, I was sure it was a good possibility that Lisa was sitting across from us. Turns out the ladies name was Shelia (found that out when the Dr. called her back).

There was a couple sitting next to us and the husband kept laying his head on his wife saying he was tired. When she walked off he said with a sheepish grin on his face that they had been there at 7:30 (it's 10 at this point) to which I replied that is WAY to long to wait. He corrected me by saying he came in at 7:30 to do his part and now they were back for her to do hers. He finished by saying, I can say that is not something I have ever done at 7:30 in the morning in my life. We got a good chuckle out of it.

Hopefully the picture uploads. The baby was moving it's numbs and bobbing its head several times during the ultrasound. It was an amazing moment. I cannot wait for each of you to reach that same milestone.

What a cute little bean, Kerri!

  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
So my secret is out Kerri we are HUGE Bears fans. Ok so posting pics worked on here but I still can't figure out how to make it my profile pic. I hate the new Windowa operating system it took forever to save this pics just to be able to upload, now I can't figure out the profile settings on this site. I feel like an 80 year old trying to figure out a computer and I work on a computer all day.
