Sock swap will be where we each get a buddy and send them a pair of lucky socks to keep their womb warm during TWW.
  • callencallen Member Member
Aww I love it. Who is in?
  • MoonlitwishMoonlitwish Member Member
I would totally do the sock swap....except I'm terrified of socks! Y'all can stop laughing any minute now. You should see me trying to do laundry-if I wasn't so horrified that I have to touch socks i'd probably find it hilarious.
8 days piui today. Got a firm not pregnant. Ovidrel is gone so these symptoms mean I'm either going to have the worst period ever or I'm fertilized. Only time will tell. The wife wants to test again on Saturday. My period isn't due until Tuesday. Do y'all think that's too soon? I'm thinking maybe first urine on Sunday would be better.
I'm sending baby dust your way tx!
    Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks Moonlit, I'm sending baby dust your way too!! When was your IUI? Mine was Saturday the 6th and I test this Saturday. I was supposed to start last Sunday but the dr said I would start late since I ovulated late. So I'm trying to patiently wait until Saturday when I get to test. And still no AF so I'm just sitting here waiting, drinking my evening tea and wearing socks...Thanks for the tips Lisa!!!

Moonlit-- just fell out laughing!! Your hysterical! We can send u a good luck charm necklace.
Are u in TWW? Yay! I probably would say Saturday is borderline line to test. But if you get a false negative then retest a day or two later. I know it's hard.
    Kisses

So far today, I've gotten nauseous twice, almost broken down in tears twice. Saturday can't come soon enough.
  • MoonlitwishMoonlitwish Member Member
My iui was the 9th. Official test is the 23rd. Tx I feel you on the nausea! I was eating dinner last night and all the sudden I just couldn't stomach anymore. One of the dogs ended up swiping it off my plate before I could even decide if i was going to give up.

Now I have no idea what my body is doing. Today is day 27 of my cycle. AF due next couple days. Well I'm bloated to all heck! I have horrible gas! I really am tired of trying to figure out what's going on.. Ugh
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
So the bitch af showed up last night...:(
  • D-rizzyD-rizzy Senior Member Senior Member
Oh no! So sorry to hear that!! That is terrible news
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
    Tx.. I'm so sorry!

Lisa, Ovidrel has been out of my system for 17 days and I am just starting to feel like myself. I had so many gas pains, bloating, pelvic pains. They are all rare side effects of ovidrel. I will not be taking ovidrel again, already told my Dr.
  • ck2014ck2014 Member Member
Tx, I feel your pain. Sorry.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
I took a blood preg beta at work today and it came back negative!!
Whew!!! Glad I don't have to sweat that anymore!. Now if my flipping AF would show up!!!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
You can have mine Lisa!!! haha j/k

So I went into the dr for a baseline ultrasound since I'm going to medicated IUI's. So I will start the Femara on Sunday. Anyone else take femara? Just curious if it made you emotional or anything. And I was surprised that my insurance actually covered the femara. Woot!! Something my insurance is good for.....haha I will also be taking Gonal F after 5 days of the Femara. Anyone take that and have any side effects I need to know about. Still not sure how I'm going to do the injectable. My co-worker said she would do it but I would have to stick around at work until 6 to do it.

    Thanks all for your support.

Tina- your going full speed ahead!! Good for you. So skipping clomid and doing injectables! Does that mean you make more eggs? And does that mean increased risk of multiples?
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
I don't know why my RE decided not to do Clomid first. I think it does increase egg production, which would probably increase my chance of multiples. I go in again on the 29th.

Tina, sorry about AF. I am on my last night of Femara for this cycle, and start injectables again tomorrow. My Femara is covered too but not injectables. I don't have any side effects from the meds. I think the Femara just helps the FSH levels and makes the ovaries have more mature follicles. I was on Bravelle injectables but have switched to Follistim. Which kind are you on?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
Tina I haven't started my injectables till AF comes. I'm taking follistim 225 twice a day then ganirelix 250 with the follistim then ovidrel to trigger. Then progesterone oil shots for 5-6 weeks after transfer.
Your gonna be fine with the shots. I think once you do it one or two times it will be easy peasy for you. Don't get worked up about it. It's helping you have your sweet baby.
I'm excited for you. I will be right there with you doing it for the first time as soon as this dang AF comes in town!! lol oh an Callen will be doing it at the same time too!!
    Kisses

The doctor called the injectable Gonal F but the paper says follism, so maybe we are on the same thing. They are calling it a hybrid. Oh dang, I was hoping the injectable would be covered too!! I'm sure they are more expensive then the Femara.
  • janbabyjanbaby Senior Member Senior Member
I just looked online I think it is the same as Gonal. My NP gave me the Follistim to me for free thank goodness. But when I purchased the Bravelle it cost around $300 for one cycle. There is a mail order pharmacy called Avella that we used that is a little cheaper on fertility meds. My Ovidrel shot cost $190 at my drugstore but $123 thru Avella.

    Sweet!! Can't wait to start!

Sooo my Dr brought up the option of IVF for me. I am still moving forward with my 3rd IUI for now, but curious as to what helped the ladies getting IVF in making the decision to do so? Thanks for a sharing.
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
I prayed for everyone lastnight and told God I trust he will start this when he thinks I'm ready. I woke up this morning and my AF is def HERE. I thought I would be just jumping up and down excited. But I just fell into tears. I think I'm just super scared to do this by myself. I hope I can get through this gracefully. I know it's not easy. Infertility women are the strongest women I pray I can be that strong.
    Kisses

Ck I chose ivf one because I had the insurance coverage to move forward and two my RE thought my chances of conceiving would be higher with IvF. My insurance cap is 35,000 and I just thought I'd use the money better moving forward. I was only doing clomid and iui's. I'm 38 and unexplained infertility.

Gah! Tina I'm so sorry! Sounds like your doc has you on the same meds as mine. I hated the femera first cycle bc it made me feel bad. Second cycle and third cycle- nothing. Gonal f i used 2nd and 3rd cycles. 2 was fine, 3 they upped the dose on me and I felt like I was in a constant state of panic.
Lisa, yay you can move forward now!!
Ladies, eat bananas. It helped me with the gas and constipation.
I'm 10 days in the tww. It's killing me not to test again but I don't feel any symptoms so I don't want to waste the test. My whole life is hanging in the balance these next 4 days. Some of these cramps are wicked. I hope they are baby cramps and not pre-AF cramps. I hate I can't tell the difference at this stage! I've been taking it really easy since my iui so I don't accidentally jar anything loose. I'm dying to get back on my bicycle since the weather has been so nice.

I'm awake time for first blood work and ultrasound for IVF. I'm soo excited.
Moonlit-- I've been thinking about you and I have everything crossed!!!
  • ck2014ck2014 Member Member
So happy for you! Good Luck!!
  • txgrl74txgrl74 Senior Member Senior Member
Does anyone know if the Gonal has to be refrigerated?
  • lposhlposh Senior Member Senior Member
    Tina idk. My follistim does.
I went and had blood work and ultrasound. The good news is they see 11 follicles on right ovary and 12 on left ovary. I was shocked! Idk how they see that. So I'm hoping all 23 will respond well to stimulation meds. I start follistim tonight at 7. Wish me luck!
