Ny Congrats!!! And will defo be praying for you. My beta is next Thursday the 18th. Doc said I should implant today or tomorrow. And Jan putting 3 in was on the high side. My doc allowed me to do it but said be cautious of multiples. So after a chemical with 2 embryos on fresh I decided to do 3!!
    I'm praying it works.
    The doc yesterday said
    For me 2-3% chance triplets
    20-30% chance twins..
I'm hoping one sticks! I've really tried hard to eating healthy, no caffeine, no sugar etc.
    How are you doing?

Congrats NY!! Lisa, that doesn't seem too risky for the triplets, I will keep you in my prayers! I am on my 3rd day of Femara and go back on the 18th to see where I stand on the number of follicles etc. I am an early ovulater so I will possibly have my IUI that day or a day after. I have been working on buying a vial from my same donor as my son from some really cool ladies in Canada this week and that has been stressful because of dealing with the bank. I think we have it all figured out now just hoping the clinics get it shipped quickly.

It's been a while since I've updated. So I will in case anyone reads anything that can help them now, or in the future.

Originally went to an RE to get pregnant b/c my wife & I wanted to start a family. I have never tried to get pregnant before so I didn't think it would be a long road. How naive of me.

Started testing in July- most came back normal except they saw a small polyp. I opted to try without removing it. Also I chose to do genetic testing which results in me being a carrier of a rare genetic disorder. I am happy I learned this and chose to have the donor tested.
    Aug: 1 IUI = BFN
    Changed donors due to availability.
    Sept: 2 IUI's back2back = BFN
October: I decide to remove the polyp and have an HSG to clean things out. Hysteroscopy & D&C. I also started acupuncture & taking Geritol.
November 2 IUI's= BFP, but I was told my beta was low at 17.
Told to test again in 2 days.
2 days later it rises to 109.
Told to test again in 2 days.
2 days later (today) dropped to 7.
Told to come back in 2 days, but was set up to expect I am no longer pregnant.

All of my IUI's have been natural, only used Ovidrel to trigger. Also this time around I am on progesterone suppositories to support a pregnancy due to lower (than they'd like to see) progesterone level.

Hopefully soon I will have a positive ending to share. I do believe that will happen, but for now this is all I got.

    Hello,

So I managed to squeeze in my second IUI cycle before the lab closed for the holidays.... So now the dreaded 2ww starts. But it would be a really Christmas gift to get a BFP. So the procedure was surprisingly simpler then my last IUI cycle, but this around my doc used what looks and feel like an old medieval torture device : the tenaculum.... Ok... So that wasn't very pleasant (glad I wasn't able to see it before the procedure), has any one had the "pleasure" of using this tool?? I just hope it doesn't affect my chance of getting my BFP.

Good luck and baby dust to everyone :)

Bee the first time around they used a tenaculum and it was a horrible experience all around. The dr was extremely rough and just did stuff with out talking to me as to what to expect or that she was getting ready to do anything. I bled for a whole day after my first try. Switched dr bc of that! Third try they used tenacululms again so I was nervous. He also used a sound which also looks like a torture device but this time no bleeding or anything. Hope everyone is staying positive!

Damn ladies, I had to Google what "tenaculum" was and I must say that if those had been shown to me prior to an IUI I may have passed out. Not totally sure why they would needed them even though Wikipedia says, "Steadying the cervix and uterus during insertion of an intrauterine device." Sorry that you ladies have had to experience that...

Oh! Congrats Iposh!!! Sticky baby thoughts to you :)

krsb16 : I'm glad my experience with the said tenaculum wasn't nearly as bad as yours, your experience sounds horrible. Mine was def not pleasant but no where near as bad, the Dr I had was very nice, he explained everything ahead of time (Didn't show me the tool... thank goodness). He said because of the shape of my uterus and the cervix entrance this tool would make the it easier... but clearly not more pleasant, he actually did an ultrasound simultaneously to show me that he was injecting directly into the uterus... that made the means to end and worth it. I'm hoping there wont be a next time :)

    Baby dust to everyone!!!

Anyone have any advice?? I feel like the trigger shot does not trigger for me....meaning I always feel like I have ovulation pain on the normal day that I am suppose to ovulate and not within the 36 hr -40 hr window. So it seems way to late ...sigh.

Callen, does your RE do an U/S either with IUI/IVF or after? They should be able to tell if you ovulated.

Yay- Lisa. Sticky bean thoughts being sent to you!
Callen- they brought me in and monitored w u/s so they knew when to do trigger - and then again to make sure before IUI that I was in the window.

    Callen,
I felt the same way about the trigger shot, but my clinic does use ultrasound to confirm & last iui I got pregnant so although I thought it didn't work, it did. Miscarried, but it did work. Gotta look at the positive.

So I wanted to share with you all that I have made the decision to wait a month or so before I go through with IVF. The cost is very expensive and I will only be able to afford one retrieval. I might not be around much but I will try to check in to see how everyone is doing. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday!! Good luck to everyone in the tww and those who recently found out they are expecting, and the ones that are due in the spring.

    Hello Ladies,

So I am currently at 8dpiui, I couldn't resist anymore and tested this morning to see the trigger was at least out of my system... It is! The part that partially worries me right now is today I am starting a cold :/ have barely been able to get out of bed all day, just feel so weak, I'm really happy it's the weekend at least. Having a cold is not really a big deal usually, not my first and clearly will not be my last, but today it's accompanied with dizziness and backache :( (making the whole experience even less pleasant).

Has anyone been sick during the 2ww and gotten a BFP? I will test again on Tuesday morning (10dpiui).

Baby dust to all and also Happy Holidays to all :)

Good morning everyone, bee I too was sick this cycle. IUI was done on a Monday, started a hacking cough and lost my voice on weds. This lasted for a good week, I was so scared Bc I was coughing so much and hard.

Today I took a test and got my first BFP!!! I am both ecstatic and nervous. Fingers crossed and prayers are appreciated! Early Merry Christmas to all!!
