    Ladies,

Just wanted to let you know that we are starting an IVF cycle with PGD. Our transfer date is scheduled for Oct 26th, the day we lost our first baby from this donor. Crazy timing! Well, this is it...our last try so we will see!
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
So ladies, I had my 4th IUI on Thursday, 10/27/11. I am now in my TWW! My numbers were good...although, it's so hard to know exactly how they report it...but they said 69 million with 33% motility. I used injectable meds this time...the 3 previous IUIs were with Clomid.

Here's hoping the 4th time is the charm!!! Crossing my fingers...
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
@sibemom, there are vials available for both IUI and ICI...just checked.
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
@aggiebaby, so how was your transfer? Are you in your TWW?
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
    Hey ladies,

Just wanted to let you know we were able to fertilize 16 eggs, 11 made it to blastocyst stage. Of those 11, 5 had abnormalities that were incompatible with life. 2 embryos were transferred and 4 frozen. I have taken several hpt, all of which are negative :-(. I go tomorrow for a blood test but things do not look good. The embryologist said that the sperm had "small heads" which is associated with poor fertilization and poor embryos. Interesting.... It is also, very interesting that I have lost two babies, sweetpea has lost one and no one else has had success. We will do frozen embryo transfers until these guys are gone and then we will switch donors. I hate that I am going to have to go through all this again with potentially poor embryos because the sperm seem to be abnormal. It has been such a long road and I am so sad and mad as well as financially broke! Anyways....thanks for letting me vent. If I were you ladies, I would switch donors and ask for a refund.

    Hi aggiebaby,

Our situation is quite same as yours. We got 6 good embryos, among which 2 of them were used for a fresh cycle and no preganancy. I'm now going to proceed to FET using the 4 frozen ones (potentially two cycles avaible). But knowing everything you have said above, I feel in such an awkward situation. What if I got pregnant but then lost it? I just can't imagine the pain...But on the other hand, I can't make my mind to just discard the 4 embryos either. :( We have nothing covered by insurance, that makes these embryos even more precious. I contacted Fairfax last week, the pregancy number with 2976 is now 5-10. But they don't reveal live birth numbers. I'm guessing zero. don't know what to do now...

    Judy,

I am so sorry to hear about you bfn. I understand. Part of my wants to just switch now, but I can't bring myself the discard the 4 embryos that we have. But at the same time I think....two more unsuccessful cycles seems heartbreaking, and even worse...a miscarriage. Did your embryologist make reference to the "small heads?" Do you have any fertility problems? Or did you have unsuccessful IUI's?
  • JudyJudy Junior Member Junior Member
Hi aggiebaby, the lab of my clinic did not mention anything about the sperms. (I don't think they payed special attention to the sperm quality) The only thing I got is a report about the count and mobility, which seems fine. I myself don't have any found fertility problem and I've done one IUI and one IVF with this donor, both negative. I haven't used any other donors. I just hope if someone get a sucessful pregnancy will report here. Good luck with your test tomorrow.
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
    Ugh...that's really concerning....

@aggiebaby, did you tell fairfax? what did they say to the "small heads"???? I think if there's a problem with this donor, they need to pull him....

    fairfax moderator?? any comments?
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
I just go the report today and was going to ask my doctor about its significance. I will give Fairfax a call tomorrow to let them know.
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
thx...i'll let you ladies know since i'm in my TWW with this donor...feeling bit nervous now. :(
  • manda210manda210 Member Member
hey ladies Ive been reading this lately and I am soooo sorry you havent been having success I do know how that feels...i havent used this donor tho....i didnt go back thru all 11 pages of posts but did anyone report success yet? if not you would think that would send off some red flags to Fairfax maybe....thats a lot of tries without success =( I hope atleast one of you have success soon!!! Good Luck!!

I just talked to the embryologist at our IVF clinic and he said that the sperm had small heads, but they were still within normal range. He said most likely if there were problems with the sperm, the embryos would not make it to blast. He does not believe that the sperm having smaller heads has anything to do with the cycle being unsuccessful. However, it does seem strange to me that on the forum, no one has had success. I am sorry if I caused undue worry. I wish you ladies the best. We will do a Frozen Embryo Transfer in the next two months, so I will keep you posted.
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
Well it is over...blood test was negative. Dr. said that he was shocked because our embryos could not have been of better quality. He thinks that a Frozen Embryo Transfer will have a better outcome because He thinks that my estrogen was too high which could have caused my uterine lining to be non-receptive.

Thinking about you Maria! Please let us know what happens!

That is interesting....because I called and emailed and was told that live birth information was not available and is not something that is tracked. I hope it's true because that gives me hope for my embryos.
  • JudyJudy Junior Member Junior Member
    Hi, Dear Moderator,

Thank you for your reply. We have four frozen embryos, and not sure if we should do FET. You gave us more confidence. It would even boost our confidence more if you can confirm those live birth reports. Same as aggiebaby, we called and were told that no live births reports will be given out.

    Thanks again,
    Judy

Ok, I think I may be hallucinating....I swear when I took my pregnancy test this morning, there was a very faint line....but now I've looked at it (it's the evening) and I can't see the line....so I'm totally going to take another pregnancy test tomorrow morning. But I have a scheduled blood test on Wednesday.

But for the few minutes this morning (before I went to work), and all day I was so excited thinking I was pregnant....I really hope there's a line tomorrow morning....I"ll keep you ladies posted.

    Maria,

I am on pins and needles waiting to see if there are two lines for you. I am hoping so badly for you.

That would be great to know that this donor really works! Good luck to you and please let us know if your test was still positive today!
  • jenandsarahjenandsarah Junior Member
Wow just looked at his Medical History and he his healthy as a horse! That's so good to see, because all we have seen are negative medical histories. I was starting to become very doubtful- but 2976 is uplifting!
  • sweetpeasweetpea Member Member
Well, the only catch with this one is that a lot of us have tried without success, so if maria2 has a positive, she will be the only one to post one on here (besides me, but I miscarried).
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
I think I counted 12 different ladies that have used this donor for IUI, most more than once and no success. We have had 3 miscarriages and 2 failed IVFs. So sad! Praying for some success! I have 4 embryos and 5 vials of sperm left.
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
To clarify, I have not had 3 miscarriages and 2 failed IVFs. As a group in the forum has had 3 miscarriages and 2 failed IVFs.
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
    Maria,

How did your blood test go today? Praying for good things!
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
Some encouragement for you ladies....I am a part of the private family forum for this donor. I had not looked at that forum in a long time because there had been no posts. However, I looked tonight and there was a lady who got pregnant on her FIRST IUI and was supposed to deliver the end of September. When she posted her comment she was 2 days away from delivering a baby girl. That is so encouraging!

Aggiebaby, thank you. We are thrilled by your good news. I just called the center again today, and they told me that they have 5-10 pregancy and no live birth reported. Do you mind sharing the private forum link? or just share any good news with us here!! Thank you! Lots of baby dusts to everybody!
