I cannot share the link because it is a private forum to people who are pregnant or have had a baby by the donor. You must register through Fairfax to get in the private forum. But I will be glad to share any positive news! I have been on the forum for over a year now and the only post is the one that was going to have her baby in late Sept. I did email her to see if I could get an update.

Aggiebaby, thank you, please do share good news with us. Hopefully she have time from her baby to reply you.

    Maria2, wish you good luck!

So I'm sorry to say that it was negative for me. I would have written sooner but I found out the morning (hours before I left for Cabo)...so needless to say, I was drinking it up in Cabo. I've been so sad and devastated because for one whole day, I felt pregnant. Now I'm pretty sure that I'm done...I'm giving myself a few months if I want to do another one, but I don't think so. I also didn't want to post because I don't want to be "debbie downer" for those who are in their TWW....

i really hope someone gets a positive soon...I need to feel encouraged or maybe feel hope if I read that someone who has tried 4+ times has gotten the BFP! I'm such at odds with everything and have no idea what I do next...Sorry ladies...

I feel your pain Maria! I am supposed to take my blood work tomorrow, but I took a test this morning and it was negative. This was my 5th time. I do need a little encouragement too. I feel like my bad attitude is what is keeping me from getting pregnant.
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
Thank you Sweetpea! Did you hear about your labtest? Hopefully it's positive? Keep hope until you hear from them or AF comes...
  • sweetpeasweetpea Member Member
Well, I have taken three pregnancy tests and they have all been negative. The donor I used last month is not available right now, so on to the search. This is the time I like best anyway. The hope of the next IUI. Let's hear it for #6!! :D
  • robinrobin Senior Member Senior Member
    Sweetpea and Maria,
Kepp the faith! Sometimes I think a new donor is just the ticket! When I got my BFP, I took the test early because I just couldn't wait. It wasn't that I knew that it would be positive, it was just that I needed to know if AF was going to show. I was having signs that AF might come like sore breasts, although they felt a little different but like you say we all tell ourselves that we are NOT going to read into things LOL! Imagine my surprise when the test read yes! I had to take three more just to be sure and then still wanted confirmation from the blood tests and now the ultraounds.

I agree the search and the excitement leading up to the iui are precious and the tww is dreaded. try to imagine yourself with a belly each time you look down. This has helped me some. For the whole tww I tell myself that I AM pregnant and guess what this time I am! Those negative thoughts crept in like they do for all, I would push them out, look and my belly and smile.

    just a thought!

Sending lots of baby dust too you all. Have faith! IT WILL HAPPEN for each of you! You are all in my prayers!

    Robin

Thank you for all of the positive words!

Robin, did you use 2976 for this BFP iui? Thanks,Judy
  • robinrobin Senior Member Senior Member
    Judy,
No I did not. I used donor 2754. His numbers were amazing each time I used him. This was the second iui using him when I got my positive!

    Good luck!

I had back to back inseminations on 12/7 and 12/8 with donor 2976. Was told we had a great specimen both times. I don't know the actual counts. I got to see them in the microscope too there was a bunch swimming around like crazy...but with purpose. They were on the hunt. I have to admit reading this thread kinda freaked me out. Reading this after our iui...I will say this donor is really cute and seems pretty smart... Hoping for a BFP. Will test on Dec 21st. (unless I cave and test early) lol
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
I'm thinking about using #2976 again....Pixelpie, keep us posted with your BFP!!!
  • aggiebabyaggiebaby Member Member
    Pixelpie,

Thinking about you!!! I got a BFP on my first and second IUI with 2976. Sadly they both ended in miscarriage, but I have a genetic condition could have been the cause. Praying for a BFP and healthy pregnancy for you! Keep us posted!

I'm pretty sure I'm out this month. Been spotting for several days. BFN on 10 days past O, and another BFN today (11 days past O) with a First response early response test. I was so hopeful too! When I walked out of the room at the doctors office right after my IUI the office across the way had a bumper sticker on the door that said, "Proud of my eagle scout" I thought that was special since that's the first thing it says about this donor on his bio. I'm pretty sure it's over but will keep testing until the AF shows.
  • maria2maria2 Senior Member Senior Member
@Pixelpie, I'm sorry....stay positive. Maybe spotting was implantation bleeding??? Please keep us posted. I'll be thinking of you....Baby dust!

How many IUIs have you had? My RE says it takes a healthy person an average of 4-6 tries, so if it is less then that I would not give up based on the donor. It's just statistics. :/

I had one so far since we started trying. My first iui ten years ago worked first time...I was younger, it was fresh donor, they told us it wasn't going to work..donor didn't have a great sample...but it did! *sigh*.... I was just really hopeful to be lucky again. We had to switch donors since 2976 is sold out again... I feel good about it though.

Any news on this donor? The first 4 vials we used were all below 10m, so we used 2 at a time. I had already purchased 8, so I'm going to use the last of them up...Fairfax reimbursed me for the 4 vials, but obviously I'm still out shipping/dr appts/storage etc.... I am confused because a Moderator on this forum said there were live births reported, but when I called they said there were none. Please if anyone has had a positive that stuck, pm me!!

Hello ladies. I have been following this thread for a while because last October we also purchased 2976. We have only actually tried once and it didn't work. Side effects from the medication have caused us not to be able to try again, but we hope that next month we can try again. I have to say that this thread has me a lot discouraged. Our Doctor was extremely inpressed with the vial that we got and said that everything looked really good. My partner was even able to look under the scope. Everyone there at the office just knew it worked because everything was perfect. So 3 weeks later, after negative tests, we went in to see the Doctor. The whole staff was floored that it didn't work. I was sitting the Doctor's office with the door closed and one of the nurses came in and said "I just don't understand. Everything was so good." After reading some of this thread I am wondering if I am not having a common problem with this donor. I did call and recieved the pregnancy numbers and it was like 1 in 5, but NO live births were given. They said they couldn't give that. I know at one point someone said something about one little girl from him that was due in September? Anyone know if that is the case? We are gonna use the two that we have during the next procedure, then we will decided if we want to continue with him. He is PERFECT for what we wanted out of a donor. We also purchased the lifetime photos and he is a cutie. We have had 3 couple friend use other donor and 2 of the three got preganant the first time. So we will see later this month.

So sorry for all that have had trouble. I know it is awful. I feel that I have been on a emotional rollercoaster ride for the past several months.

The girl that was pregnant did give birth in September by this donor. I was also told he has severl pregnancies reported that were less than 9 months ago. Supposedly there is one due in March and one in August. I just had my 3rd iui by this donor and am 6 dpiui.
  • Dani314Dani314 Junior Member
Well that is really good. My Doctor and I talked about it today and he was very surprised with the problems because he said that everything looked so good. At least we are learning there are more children than before. Hopefully we are gonna try for the second time in a month. Thanks for the information and best of luck.

Hello ladies-I started following this thread and share the same story with several of you. I had my 3rd IUI with 2976 and my new doctor told me that the vial only had 5 million motile sperm. They are currently investigating this issue. I hope that we can get someone from Fairfax to document in writing that there have been births or pregnancies near term by this donor since there seems to be conflicting information.

I was just curious How many iui attempts did u do before moving on to ivf?
  • Dani314Dani314 Junior Member
We have another month to wait so it looks like for us the next 4 weeks will be spent figuring out if we want to stick with him. My Doctor had no problem with the count, but it didnt work either so who knows.
  • k&bk&b Senior Member Senior Member
Dani, my RE told us that even with the very best of circumstances, it takes between 4-6 tries for an iui to work, so I would not be concerned at all that it didn't work in one try. It's just a matter of statistics... :/
I still have 3 vials left, so if round 3 doesn't work for me I'm going to keep trying!
  • sweetpeasweetpea Member Member
    k&b,
Let us know how this IUI works out. I always really liked this one too, but after I had a miscarriage by him in September, I moved on. But, if others are reporting pregnancies and good numbers, I might rethink him when I get ready for my next IUI.

BTW, I am in Austin - where are you?

Yeah we are gonna do the final 2 we have in storage. We were one of 3 couples that tried and they both took on the first try. LOL My luck. He is SO perfect for everything else we wanted, so it will be hard to change and start the process all over again.

We are currently in the middle of our IVF cycle with 2976. Out of 17 mature eggs, 14 of them fertilized. We just got our day 3 report and all 14 embryos are 8-10 cells and look excellent. I asked the embryologist about the sperm quality and they said it was great for frozen sperm and explained they obviously did the job great with the embryos we have. We plan on putting 2 blasts in on Monday. Just wanted to let everyone know 2976 sperm seems to do the job :)
