Hi Paulm102-I'm thinking of moving on to IVF since I'm 43.4 (yes...I'm counting the months). I used injectables for my last IUI cycle and only produced two good follicles on 150 IUs of Bravelle and Menopur. I can't imagine ever being able to produce 17 mature eggs. I've been using 2976 for IUIs and the last three didn't work so I'm moving on to a more aggressive approach. Can you tell me a little bit about your experience? Did you use ICSI? If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I used to feel pretty young and 6 months into the process feel like a senior citizen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi PaulM, thanks so much for your feedback. I too am curious as to if you used ICSI or not?
Wow, that is a lot of eggs! Yay!

Hi! I am 22 years old and I suffer from PCOS. We decided after a couple failed cycles that IVF would be the best option for success. Our clinic automatically uses ICSI with IVF. I know that may be the reason to the great fertilization. But we did ask about the sperm and they said the motility and morphology was great. Out of the 14 fertilized we transferred two blasts yesterday and froze 7. They were all very good quality embryos. We find out the 9th if we've got a BFP. The IVF was an extremely long, and sometimes stressful journey! I hope everyone gets their BFP soon!!!!

    Hi everybody,

We chose 2976 and are getting ready for our first IUI. I don't really have any specific questions about this donor. Any information would be awesome. I would like to know if anybody has gotten pregnant via IUI using him. Also, if there are any offspring I would love to see pictures, and know where you guys are located. I saw one person was from Austin. We live in Austin too. We're you able to get pregnant?
  • sweetpeasweetpea Member Member
Hi there fellow Austinite! I did get pregnant with #2976, but had a miscarriage two weeks later. I didn't have much luck with his sperm counts post thaw. I would love to hear what yours are. Are you using Texas Fertility Center? My husband and I really liked this donor, so I hope someone gets some good luck with him. Feel free to contact me anytime. I have gone through 5 IUI's since July and am currently taking a break for a while. Truth be told, my husband wants a summer baby, so that means waiting til fall, but I don't know if I can hold out that long!

We heard our twins strong heartbeats yesterday!! The embryologist also reminded us how awesome the sperm was and that we had picked a great donor. Have faith!! We hope you all have bfp soon!

I am currently 34 week pregnant using donor 2976, due mid April. I didn't know about this forum until about a month ago! I am a prefectly healthy 27 yr. old (husband doesn't make any sperm). We got pregnant in July on our 3rd IUI attempt. We are anxiously expecting our daughters birth next month! Our clinic never mentioned anything wrong with the donors sperm and always had good counts (can't remember exactly because it was so long ago). I would love to hear from other people who got pregnant using this donor. Glad to hear that there have been so many successes lately!

Congrats!!!! We saw our baby boy's heatbeat on Friday! He is due Due October 18th!!! It has been a long road, but I think this one is going to hang on. Thank you 2976!

    Hi everyone,

It's very exciting to see so many preggers with this donor. Congrats to everyone.

We purchased six vials of this donor and I'm scared it won't be enough because we're wanting to have bio-siblings down the road. My doc wants me to take clomid, so I figure we'll try six times and see how it goes. My original plan was to get pregnant and then buy more vials to store for baby #2, but this seems to be a popular donor, so I don't know if I should go ahead and buy more now. Do any of you have experience with this?

We're doing our first IUI next month. I'll let everyone know what our counts are when we get them.

Sweetpea - We are using women's partner's in health here in Austin. We're a lesbian couple and they're very lesbian friendly, so that's why we chose them. If you and I both end up getting pregnant with this donor we definitely need to stay in touch, we wouldn't want them to eventually start dating! It is very weird to think we might get pregnant around the same time, and they could possibly be classmates in school etc.

I am using the Texas Fertility Center off of Far West. My husband has had some medical issues this month, so we will have to wait a while longer to save up some money to do another IUI. After hearing the great successed, I am definitely thinking about using this donor again.

I am so excited to see so many suddenly pregnant by this donor. YAY!!! Like I have said before, during our first IUI the doctor had only good things to say. Hopefully we will try our second try in May. Due to Clomid causing unbelievable cysts(dosage was increased and was too much), they had to do emergency surgery on me last Monday :( Luckly everything went very well. So we will see at the end of the month how everything is going and go from there. *Fingers crossed*

Looks like 2976 is on a roll ladies!

Yes, I am so happy that things are going well with this donor!!! Good luck!

So, my doctor (finally) had me tested for CMV... and I'm negative. So I might be moving on from this donor, and my second choice, sadly... I can't believe I need to start looking/trying to select all over again for something that seems so silly. I mean, yes, I've read the risks and it is scary- but when people have kids the old fashioned way there are no tests for CMV and worries about this!

    boo.
  • Dani314Dani314 Junior Member
I totally get what you are saying. When doing research on CMV they told me to check with the CDC. Well my cousin is a Doctor for the CDC so I called her. The risks are pretty bad and I agree with you that people never knew, that's what I said. My cousin put it really simple to me. "But if you have a choice to avoid something bad why wouldn't you? Those people didn't have the information you do." Made me really think. It's your choice and I wish you the best in whatever you do. My test came back positive so I was good.
  • robobrobob Junior Member Junior Member
I am also CMV negative and my OB said it was fine to use a CMV positive donor. Everything I've read says otherwise, and I'm not really sure why. It does make me a little weary that she said that, but I clarified with her more than once and she was adamant. I'm going to continue to trust her because she hasn't lead me wrong yet.

I was also wondering about the one due a few weeks ago.

We are going Monday for our 2nd IUI with this donor. Hope all goes well. Should know in a couple weeks. :D

Hi Everyone. I'd like to know how all the pregnancies are going with 2976. We just did our first IUI on Sunday. So we're doing the TTW right now. It's nerve wrecking just waiting. I wanted to let everybody know thought that the doctor said his sperm count was over 20 and the motility was great.
